I'm up for a trial-by-fire with the new civs.
You know GF, it seems like you start a new game every week here. Are you finishing any of them? You must be in twenty-some games by now.

As far as the settings go, I'm fine with what ever the majority wants.

I have no idea how the new traits are balanced, but I'll go with the Inca.

I don't believe the Austrians are available in the Epic game.

What size map and difficulty?
You could include Austria if you generated a map and included the Austrian civ in the editor. How about plague or are we just going default epic?

Yes they are. If you go into the editor, you can make one of the standard civs inactive and activate Austria in its place.

I had in mind this would be strictly conquests rules no scenarios or modding. Just everyone choosing a civ and playing. I guess we could play a scenario if that what people would like to do. Which scenario is Austria in because they are not in the Epic game and cannot be activated because they do not exist in it (I just checked).

C3C comes with an Austria civ made specifically for the Epic game. The instructions for how to add Austria are in a thread here titled: How do you add Austria? . It sounds like a very easy change to make through the editor. Just take the default .bix file and open it. You will see all available Epic game civs checked -except- Austria. Uncheck a civ we are not using and check Austria. Save the file and it's just like a normal Epic game. All of the Conquests rules are preserved. I suggested Austria because you said you only want to play a game with the new c3c civs. This is how you make such a game.

It will be a little bit more difficult than the thread indicated. You could either use a scenario that already had them in it or actually create a civ for them by creating one from scratch in the editor. There is no activate/deactive civ, that refers to making multiplayer scenarios as they only allow 8 playable civs. All 31 civs are available in the Epic game you would have to delete one and add Austria. However all the flics for Charles are in the Flics folder so I would assume its a ready to play civ.
Anyone know what their UU is supposed to be?

I'm looking at the editor with the conquests.biq yet I can't seem to find Austria. Not as clearcut as I thought or I don't know what I am doing. (Which is entirely possible)
I say we get the game rolling unless there is a huge desire to have Austria in the game.

Even though Carthage isn't new, the traits for this civ are (Seafaring, Industrious). I would like that if it's o.k.

Okay I need a ruling, both Feephi and E_T want in. Feephi wants Austria which is would technically require modding and E_T wants to play a civ that has the new traits.

I'm fine with E_T playing Carthage since they have new Conquests traits.
I don't mind if Freephi joins the game, but if he is set on playing the Austrians which would require a modding of the game - This I am against since this was just supposed to be a "Strictly Conquests PBEM," which I assumed indicated no modding. If Austria was a part of the regular Conquests game setup, it would be fine...but they aren't. Just my two-cents worth.
Freephi, would you be interested in picking a different civ that is included in the standard Conquests game?
