System Shock 2 : Rebirth
I just found an excellent mod for System Shock 2. The creator ( Etienne Aubert) is planning to redo all the characters in a new highres version.

What exactly is "System Shock Rebirth"?
It's an unofficial mod for the System Shock 2 videogame made by Looking Glass and Irrational Games. In order to play the mod, an original version of this game is required.
What does this mod do?
This mod intends to give you better graphics for this fantastic game by replacing all the original low-polygon AI meshes with totally new hi-res ones. It will absolutely not affect the original game except for this little enhancement which will give a serious lifting to the old Dark engine.
How can I run this mod on my computer?
It is really easy to install. Just go to the downloads section to grab the latest realese.
I zipped it in order to keep it as small as possible. So, just save it to your disk, unzip it and put the contained folders in your System Shock 2 directory. That's all

The project is currently on hold because he's moving abroad. But beta1 is out and playable.
I'm liking the new cyborg midwife model already! arty:

I probably will replay this great game through at some point. If I do I'll be sure to upgrade.

Seems you will need to turn gamma up though, the newer ones look very dark. But much better too.

EXCELLENT!!!
Another timeless classic gets a much-needed facelift.
It may be dark, but darkness is a necessary part of the atmosphere of this game.

Those zombies scare me in hi or low res. You can't see the SS2 mind games with screenshots; the zombies are altered, and want to die. And they always sneak up on you when you are in the personal data screen. Then you come back just as a zombie is about to hit you.

My friends and I are waiting for him to finish the mod, most importantly the main character models, before we go through it again cooperatively.

SS2 has a special MP team-mode. Never played it myself though.
