Why did you take the 1980s city style in the 1940s???
Okay the glamourous style looks fantastic as well as some others (the biggest Russian style) i.e.
Its just my opinion but I thought the citystyles of DV2II supreme and best looking for this period. Imho some of the Vendetta Styles look "pallid".
A nice adavantage imho is the specialization of the units. Giving the Tanks a 50% Bonus against Mov#2 Units, and against them an anti-tank gun- nice idea!
I would try to advance this aspect - your graphics are always SUPREME(I just leave out the Vendetta citys this time), BUT trying to install a realistic warfare into Civ2 would be the next step into the Golden Age of Civ2!!!
Best wishes, Cifer

I must check this out...

Curt, its a bad idea - I think- having no trade on the sea. Doesnt anyone recognize that but me?
I guess every playtester is just looking at these fancy tanks and nicest graphics and forgets about some elemtary things.
And Curt, really, I love all of your scenarios but I just cant understand why you did choose an 1980s city style for the 1940s...
Just wanted to tell you that.
Best wishes,
Cifer

OK, Cifer!
I think the flow of trade is already OK:
Any more trade and you will be seeing 1945 technology in 1941!
I thought the old city style was a bit tatty...
I might make a new 'non-skyscraper' version...
Of course the USA should have skyscrapers, right?

Skyscrapers in New York are ok!
I also ment that some graphics looked kind of "pallid" if you know waht I mean.
Besides... you got my excellent Waffen SS Sound - Dont say I am not good to ya!
Best wishes, Dude

Hi all,
I gave D3 a shot as the Japanese on Deity. Here are my results:
Jan45
- The SE Asia fighting took to India. The Brits are throwing huge numbers of bombers at me.
- As the Jerries were taking a beating from the Soviets, I decided to intervene; all went well up to the Ural (early 1944), when the Russkies develloped the JS. This far my attempts to establish bridgeheads west of the Ural were undone by massive JS/IL2 counterattacks.
- The States have been busy crushing South America and are taking no part in this world war .
I stashed some money on my schweizer bank account and am preparing my luggage for a one-way trip to Chile.
Here are some questions from a layman:
- Why are there techs with no apparent benefits (leading to cinema)?
- Don't you think the Japs should know Civil Defense I from the start?
- Wouldn't a Jap kamikaze-type unit be fun for the late game?
- Why put in so many fortresses (or are those all built by the AI)? I mean most of the Rodina looks like a mix of the Great Wall and the Ligne Maginot!
Anyhow it's great fun, I am really looking forward to all of your releases.

Cheers Ceteram!
Worry not, almost all of your concerns have been fixed in the new version that I am tinkering with right now.
-The JS2 is still a beast, but is defeatable.
-The advances have had a serious shake up, and every tech is now useful!
-Civil defences are to represent new effort to build fortifications...(like the German Atlantic wall.)
-A kamikaze unit will be on the card for the ToT version, most definitely!
-That is the Stalin line!
I hope you'll like the new version too!

I always overlook some sort of issue, and now I remember what it was.
You've disabled the railroad tech (RR) from the game, but the radio (Rad) is still in the game. If the player has the radio tech slot, they can create a virtual superhighway of limitless roads by using the "build airbase" option. I'd suggesting either reinstituting railroads or getting rid of the radio tech slot altogether.
Another one - the USSR doesn't have Stalinism.

Hi Curt!
The trade-production balance looks well now. Great work!
Where did the glamorous III. Reich style go to?
Anyways ... my Screen here in Düsseldorf has a better "resolution" (Thats what my dictionary says). So All your scen even just looks more supreme now.
Did I tell you that I love your V2? And your Bf´s?
Okay I have to get ready for the university now (doin) something for Düsseldorfs science output.
Bye,
Cifer

Greetz.
I hope there is no new sounds, as the link provided above doesn't seem to work for me.
In order to stay consistent with the city names, I'd replace Prague by Prag, Vienna by Wien, ROME by ROMA and Copenhagen by Kopenhagen.
Cheers.

Well it really should be either Copenhagen or København. Kopenhagen isn't used by any country as far as I know...

Do you mean by bulding airbases everywhere?
If they the player is insane enough to waste thier time doing that, then they deserve unlimited travel!
Ditching Radio, or upheaving the tech tree will cause too many hassles, I'm afraid!

Awesome armour!
I'll give them a go, fairline...
But more likely I'll reserve these camo-mottled beauties for the ToT version!
Gotta love that battlefield grey!

I'll take note of København too, thanks!
The city names of allied or conquered axis cities, I will keep in the English style.
Just for a sense of completeness.
But København is rather cool, so I will use it!
