Finally!
I finally received my copy from Amazon.ca (Canadian sister to Amazon.com) November 12th. My wife had "pre-ordered" it mid-October! I will never ever pre-order from Amazon again.
Maybe they share the blame with Atari for not shipping games to them in time. I don't know. But I won't pre-order from them again.

Now delayed in NZ until the 18th (tomorrow) but one shop now has the 23rd as the arrival date. Why the delay?

Rusty - you mean EB says the 23rd, don't you?
No word as to why for the delay, and Atari Oz still claims the 14th for release in Region 4.

Just visited a store in Melbourne Australia and they said it is definitely in their warehouse and could be in the store this afternoon or tomorrow. I can only go back there on Wednesday (19th) and get it then. So it is here but not on the shelves yet.

Wheee!!!!!
/me is playing right now....
Here's the lowdown from exotic downtown Wellington, NZ.
I found C3C in EB (despite them saying until yesterday it was out the 22nd), Gamesman and where I picked it up, Central Park Interactive. **** Smith Electronics does not appear to have it yet. All of them are in full-size computer boxes except for the one from Central Park (my one) which is in the smaller box, but still comes with the manual.
No bonus CD of course. Oh well, here's hoping we can get it some other way...

Yep, it said 23rd in EB but...I saw it in Central Park (Eastgate) today. I was tempted to buy it but...it had a price of $39.95 yet everywhere else I've seen it advertised for $29.95. I mentioned it to the guy but he said no, it was $39.95. Well, I'll expect it to be elsewhere (The Gamesman etc) from tomorrow - tell me other Kiwis who have bought it - how much did you pay for it?

Ok, I got the game today from The Gamesman. $29.95 (big box) but...no printed manual - it's all on the CD. And no bonus CD.
Does the small box version have a printed manual MrWhereItsAt?

Mine does, but is not much (80 pages). The bonus CD was meant for preorders and came seperately. I believe it was only available in the US.

Rusty - when I saw it in Welly it was $29.95 everywhere. The small box DOES have the manual.
Am looking at the .pdf on the CD right now and the manual is exactly the same.
Another little difference is in the box itself - I noticed the large box had no images from the game anywhere on it - just the cover artwork and some Game Magazine and sites reviews of Civ 3 on the back! The small box I have has one of those hinged covers, and has images from all the scenarios on the inner section.
So...lots of undocumented changes and things then. And I am just hoping I start to see the bonus CD for sale on places like ebay after a while - there was no way I could get it in a pre-order and I would very much like it, even if it means paying extra for the free CD!

Odd that they insisted on charging $39.95 for that version in Christchurch. A cook straight ferry charge?

Yay, got it today from EB Southland (Melbourne).
There's no debacle with corrupted master disks this time.
