I was just wondering what you guys thought the best scenario was so far, therefore when i get c3c i will have a decent idea of what to go to for some instant gratification. Thanks

I thought Rise of Rome was the least enjoyable, myself. Heh. I prefer Age of Sail, and then Sengoku.

I doubt they've played it yet.
I kind of like Mespotamia now, and AoD.

I agree with Trip, the Middle Ages scenario rocks.
Then again, that's the one I played the most during the beta.

Middle Ages is my favorite, but I'm really starting to like Fall of Rome (okay, I'll admit it I like the warmongering scenarios).

Well, I just started Middle Age scenario. So far that's the best. I started as German, but think I will start over again as one of the Vikings. I dont know about their start position yet, but I believe the Norweigeans should be stronger than anyone on the board if it is historically accurate

Rise of Rome!
The Rise of Rome allows you to play the Romans, or any of the opposing civs, which adds much playability. Some of the conquests limit your choice of player and opponent civs.
The map is superbly detailed, and the historical starting positions lend much historical flavor to the simulation.
Of the conquests I have experimented with, the Rise of Rome is by far the most interesting and engrossing.

I don't even have the game yet but you don't have to be educated to vote.
Seriously, we need to retake this poll in 3/4 months.

I;ve only played a few, but I really like Sengoku. though it has to be played with house rules, as the AI just parks his king in the capital. Luckily they do seem to upgrade them through time, so they are quite strong. I just wish that they would withdraw him if the capital was down to a handful of defenders. And I would like to see the AI make some attacks with the daimyo (or whatever it is called) but i know that would lead to some quick deaths. So very easily the human could just sack the capital, but that has severe penalties, as there are countless AI settlers waiting in the wings to fill the space. So what I do is hit all the cities that lead to the capital, like if 3 cities border me and one is the capital, I take the other two first, to make it more sporting. maybe on Deity I would be more of a bastard.
but
I've also played mesoamerica and potatomia liked both as well

hi ,
its a great sceanrio , but ( here it comes ) it would have been great to see it happen on a bigger map with more civs , ....
but then again , it would demand a great deal of work and not everyone wants to play long detailed scen's , .......
who knows , maybe some people shall get together in a while and make a couple scen's themselfs
have a nice day

Age of Discovery!!! Age of Sail!!! whatever it's called.
It's not even close, this scenario is like a completely different game.
Even without war, this scenario is damn addictive. You are constantly, and I mean "constantly", moving your troops back and forth from Europe and the Americas, picking up treasures and dropping them off in your capital.
Whipping up on the heathen natives, or converting them with your Missionaries. Then there are the Privateers you have to look out for.
P.S. the best war scenario I've played so far is Rise of Rome. But the Age of Sail is so much more than war.

well I'm done with 6 of them. I just have to finish the last 3.
I think Fall of Rome or Rise of Rome might be the best. Mesopotamia is pretty good as well.
Middle Ages would be better if the ai used the relics better.
Mesoamerica is pretty cool for a short scenario. And Age of Discovery has a lot of potentional. I need to play that one at a higher difficulty level as the ai didn't pose much challenge.

I’m a fan of WWII Pacific, as that was the conquest I was really looking forward to, but I have had the most fun playing Sengoku, so it gets my vote.

I just got done with Sengoku. Pretty fun for the most part. Though I'm thinking this has to be played at Emporere and above. The ai was way too conservative because of the barbarians and did not expand fast enough. I easily led the whole game.

Now I have finished all of them. I voted for Fall of Rome earlier- though I should have waiting voting until I played all of them.
Just got done with WW2 pacific. The combat is fun with the combined arms. It's nice using so many naval and air units. Too bad the ai doesn't know how to control the seas or launch massive invasions using transports. The scenario is just a little too short and easy for me to vote for it.
Middle Ages is indeed a lot of fun. I look forward to playing that one again. But I do like Fall of Rome as well, I look forward to playing that one again as well. Same with Age of Discovery.
So I can easily round it down to those scenarios as the best- Age of Discovery, Middle Ages, and Fall of Rome.
I really need to play each more extensively, but I'll see if I can compile a list here.
1. Fall of Rome
2. Middle Ages
3. Age of Discovery
4. WW2 Pacific
5. Rise of Rome
6. Sengoku
7. Napoleonic Europe
8. Mesoamerica
9. Cradle of Civilization- Mesopotamia
Even though I have mesoptotamia as last, this is by no means bad. It offers some decent replayability with many civs to try. But it is very short- same with Mesoamerica. Mesoamerica is good because it has the ritual sacrifices and such which is a nice touch. But I don't necessarily like too long of scenarios as well- Rise of Rome is one of those. It took forever to move all those troops around. It is very difficult to take over huge chunks of land as the real Roman empire did, and very tedious as well. But I still do want to play that scenario a couple more times as other civs.

Its been my experience that the AI can't handle playing most of the positions in all of the scenarios. (At least not passably well)
