The only reason this would be of any interest to us, of course, is if there are scenario implications. And I think there are.
1) Battle type scenarios: It would be interesting to see how this works with a scenario like "Gettysburg". Maybe Polaris & a volunteer could test simultaneous play and give us their impressions. A modified, 2-to-4 player version of "Second Front" would really be something!
2) Dungeons & Dragons: This could be an entirely new genre of Scenario. Imagine a human "Dungeon Master" overseeing and interacting with several human role-players. The DM sees the whole map and has "spotter units" posted at key locations so he's always aware of what's going on. He could control the monsters and maybe even some units which temporarily join each player's quest. Perhaps he also controls the trigger units and is able to move them into position as needed. The possibilities are endless!

Hey Field Marshall, what image are you talking about seeing at the civfanatics forums?
That would be great for scenarios if someone could make a great WW2 scenario like Ansteig but not just for the germans, it'd be great.
Anyone wanna try it out?

Wow, I made my own copy of that image and put it up, but it has gone away. Wierd.
It was the image with the selection menu showing the simultanious movement box. I recieved an email from CapTVK saying that he was asked to not post it because it was causing slowdowns at the fanatics site, and that I should do the same. So, I copied the image and put it up on anglefire (which for some reson worked, and now it doesn't).
Whatever, everyone has seen the image with the new box checked off so the point has become moot.

Erm, I don`t mean sound naive, but where is this option? I can`t seem to find it anywhere in the Civ preferences at all.

You must add the following line Simultaneous=1 to the civ.ini file in your /windows directory.
Check the threads above for details.
