New Harry Potter trailer!
Woohoo!
This is for Prisoner of Azkaban, to be released on June 4, 2004. I found it on www.harrypotter.com (on the right side).
Looks VERY interesting. Oldman looks the part of Black. Snape (actually a Boggart) in drag is funny as Hell, and my have Draco, Harry, Ron, and Hermione aged. That Dementor hand is spooky looking as well.

Nope.
They really need to crank out these movies faster. After all, these kids will be adults soon.

I think they are doing the movies on the proper time span. There is a book year between each book and about a year between each movie so that the kids age about a year between each one. By the time their finish aren't the kids suppose to be 16-17 anyway?

This only works if they are filming the movies every year. This movie is going to be released a year and a half after the last one. Hopefully they are starting filming soon for GoF. Then again, I hear that might be a two parter (would that mean OotP will be a 2 parter as well?). The age stuff has a potential to get very screwed up with the current actors. Especially considering we don't know what schedule Rowling is going to be on for the next 3 books.
And they end at 18, IIRC.

Three books? Should only be two more books, unless Harry gets held back a year or they do a year after he leaves Hogwarts. Students aer only at Hogwarts for seven years.

18!, I thought it was 7... or maybe that was her movie deal... No idea.
Still, I think they do continuous shooting. Hold ups most likely occur in editing, special effects stuff and the like; post-shoot.
Still, we use our imaginations to read we can use them to watch a movie. Just so long as 15 year old HP doesn't have hair coming out of his ears and syatic problems I don't think it will be to bad.

Yeah, 7 years starting from age 11.

But I thought the novels were ending when Harry was 18... you know after the school year ended, with a great battle and all.

'Tis possible. Harry's B-day is in the summer, about a week or so before the start of classes. So he won't be eighteen for about a month and a half after the end of his final year, which is supposed to be the final book.
She say no more Hogwarts books after that, but will we see books about Harry the Auror?

Probably not. She says she doesn't want to do them... she did say that the end of the last book she'll do a 'what happened to ____' type of deal where she maps out what the characters (at least the main ones) did with their lives.
I guess one reason is to prevent non-Rowling continuations not stray too far from what she wants her characters to be doing.

Very cool trailer. Especially the Hogwarts choir singing "Macbeth" in the background... quite striking.
The new Dumbledore looks quite like the old one once he's all magicked up.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione don't look all that much older to my eye, but Draco... wow. Looks like he aged four years since the second film.
Overall, I like the look of it... I think they made a good choice for the new director.

If you look at some of the stills, Harry looks a little older and Hermione had a growth spurt... she's a bean stalk now!
Draco looks so much older, IMO, because of the new hairstyle.

I think the greasy adolescent skin helps, too.
Really looking forward to this. My favorite of the books.

This gives me the hope that this movie might not be crap. Under the previous director, I wondered just how it was possible to take the worst from American movie industry, dumb down the book, taking out best parts of it, and make a hit movie out of that .
