Sorry missed this one...yep, it is not it, but I do remember this game.
Trying not to just give this one away. The publisher is quite famous, but no longer in business. The designer is also very well known. If that does not help

wargame, mid 80's, publisher gone, designer quite famous. Cryptic yet helpful... I can only think of one wargame publisher publisher besides SSI. But the game? Not there yet....something with europe in it?....Uncertainty...puzzlement...curiousity.... I like it.

Standup...sit down
CoT...nope, I already gave you the name of the designer.
Guys, you really have to pay attention to what I am saying. I hide clues in my posts. For instance
WW@ is WW2; note how the 2 and the @ share the same key on the keyboard. At first I just did a typo, then came back and corrected, then thought about it and changed it back to the typo. Do you just want me to tell you what the game is?

Well, I think I've figured it out but only by looking at a list of the games of the designer you've been strongly hinting at. Does that count?

BB you got it. It is Crusade in Europe by none other than our old friends at Microprose and designed by Sid himself. I owned all three of these in the series.
Notice that Sid backwards is dis, and I said that I did not want to dis the designer.
You have the floor BB

Which was the "strong hint" I alluded to.
****, I can't think of a game, I've had three in a row now which is a bit disturbing considering I've followed it as closely as before and I didn't get one in dozens...
Oh well, I'll have to find something and make it a bit trickier this time. Wait...

Considering that was my last game I think it's safe to say that's not it.
