The real question to ask is whether anyone here has clicked through, or bought products and such from spam.
I admit I have. heh, a couple of times. And I'm not a sucker, each time worked to my favor. Not that I'm a proponent of spam, I'd gladly give up the 3-5 spam e-mails I read for the 15,000 I don't.
Believe it or not, I actually bought stock at the urging of a spam e-mail. It was in my day trading days, in the glory days of the internet boom. I usually didn't research companies anyways, just looked at the stock price for the last few days and bought based on that. Anyways I got an e-mail for a cheap stock, I checked it out on e-trade and I bought a few hundred shares.
No, I'm not a fool. I figured that even if it was a worthless company, if that .01% of the spam recipients actually bought stock, that'd be sufficient to drive up the price just enough for me to buy stock and then jump out. As is the day trading way. I did this and made a few hundred dollars. God bless spam!
