Come to sunny Melbourne, next the sea. Once voted world’s most livable city, it has parks galore and easy access to both Victoria’s Alpine country (small alps, I know, but they are old, so very old), the sea, the shining sea, temperate rainforests and deserts.
We boast a variety of cuisines, Japanese, Viet Namese, Lebanese, Italian, Greek (third largest ‘greek’ city in the world after Athens and Salonika) a variety of Chinese cuisines, some fusion ( Straits, Nonya, Singaporean, Pacific Rim Australian style, so you get flying fish roe with wasabi, or emu carpaccio) a vibrant cafe culture with coffee houses to die for, plenty of sports for those of you so inclined, and of course the all important breweries and vineyards for the seriously bibulous.
There’s a selection of rather good museums and art galleries, a great music scene catering to all tastes, and better theatre than you’ll find in Sydney. Unfortunately house prices are very silly at the moment, so don’t plan on buying unless you have income from abroad. Renting is a viable alternative until the housing bubble bursts.
It’s summer now, and on Saturday the weather was sunny, dry and hot, reaching 39 C.
Oh, and of course we have trams, so any continental European Apolytoners will feel quite at home....

Ulen is a small Minnesotan farm town in the Red River Valley of the North, which has the richest soil in North Americ; we are about 45 miles NW of Fargo, ND. The poulation of Ulen and the surrounding area that covers our school discrict is about 1000 people. The town is boring, but nearby Fargo is one of the nicest cities in the area.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Home of big-blue-sky summers and blisteringly cold winters. It's not too bad at the moment, though... Hovering about -10C.
It's an oil city, so it's got a lot of ugly areas. But the river valley remains lush and beautiful, and the areas surrounding it (the University on the south side, Downtown on the north) are quite nice.
(part of the University)
We also have the largest mall in the world (actually, they may have built a bigger one now, I'm not quite sure): West Edmonton Mall! I'm not particularly proud of it, but it's an all right place, I suppose. Definitely enough shoppes.
And there's a pirate ship!
See?
There's also some dolphins, but the animal rights people don't like that too much, and there's only one left, so that won't be for long, I don't think.
And finally, Edmonton is the home of the best National Hockey League franchise of all time: the Oilers! Featuring such greats as Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, Kevin Lowe, Paul Coffey, Glenn Anderson, Grant Fuhr, Andy Moog, Esa Tikannen, and the greatest player of all time, Wayne Gretzky!
Ahem.
