Freeze Time Question
Hey, I'm kinda new here, so blah blah blah..

Anyways.

Is there any way in the game or a mod I can get that I'll be able to stop scientific research, say I wanted to play a game with only the advances up to the industrial age. I have the Civ3 Multitool, but I don't see a way to freeze science. Any help would be much appreciated

Sorry, not much of a modder, so I don't know definitively, but...

No.

My guess would be to delete the rest of the advances. The only thing that would be left would be future tech., but from what I have heard future tech. is usless. Anyways goodluck.

If you get rid of research you will need to consider how that will affect the income and luxuries percentages.

nah, I mean I just want to play with, say, everything up to industrial age. Then no more technology. Would there be any way to do that?

I still stick with the delete all the rest of the techs. That would stop science, cause you can't research what is not there.

I think Justin's is the best solution -- but there would be a big risk that the AIs would continue pouring their research dollars into "future techs" that do absolutely nothing while you would be wise enough to turn off all your research and rake in the income once you hit the end of your modified tech tree.

I havent looked at the editor for about a year so take this with a grain of salt, but you should be able to use the editor to remove all the techs that you dont want and save it as a scenario.

There is a way that you can skip eras though I'm not sure how it's done. So you would start the game in the second era using the techs from the first era instead. That way the Modern era would be dropped and you'd end the game with the Industrial Era.
