At first I thought your suggestion was pretty silly - by having ties we discover who isn't the mafia, but by executing who we suspect is the mafia (if we have 2 top suspects) then we at least have a 50% chance of getting the mafia.
Then I read other people's comments and realised that you meant this method for only the first two rounds. Very sharp thinking (on your part). A tie will guarantee that the mafia isn't offed in the first two rounds, so after that we should have a better idea of who to kill next.

They are pathetically inept at being devious, while people at Poly are naturally skilled at... misinformation spreading. Plus if we actually caught the mafia then the game would be over and we would have no excuse to kill innocent people any more. We are sadistic, not stupid.
