Yes, I thought I'd make it interesting by voting for Miriam even though we are at war

Interesting! It could come down to a single vote.
I'll play in a few hours (or when a deal goes through).

$@#%*!
I tried to play the turn only to have it crash my game. I've asked Net Warriar to replay the turn and send it again.

Hey, I had some crumby luck with some pod pops so I wouldn't mind playing the turn over. First, I want to ask our CNM to have a look at the turn I sent out to determine where the problem lies.

I recall interceptors causing problems, but I thought the only people deploying them were me and Morgan. Icannot think of any other glitches. Fosse, are you using version 4 or version 5 (XP)? If you are using an earlier version, and Net Warrior is using a later version, that could be the problem.

I played the turn Net Warrior sent me thru to the end and passed the turn to the Gaians and started that turn - np. FYI and hope this helps your situation.
I have seen in certain instances where the E-Mail system corrupts turns. Maybe try resending the file?

Gaian votes -> Zak. Curiously, I didn't even have the option to vote for Miriam.

2169 to Net Warrior.
Zacharov wins with 563 votes. I didn't have the option to vote for Miriam either. I just checked that and my notes from 2169, and I know why it happened.
When the voting started in Santiago's turn Miriam and Lal had 130 population (the same as during my turn, neither had gone yet) Miriam had no population increase, but Lal went up to 136. It answers a question I was going to pose - if your population goes up after the election is called, do your votes go up? They don't (they are locked at the totals they were at when the election was called), but the player and AI ranking for candidacy is checked.
It gets worse. Yang got to vote for Miriam. So the AI all vote immediately (which matches the diplomacy screen) the player/AI turn the election is called. It raises some interesting possibilities in very close games - sort of like the popular vote - electoral college bit. . You could theoretically become disqualified for second place during the voting, and still be elected by the votes already cast.

- do you folks mind if I replay the beginning of the turn as a technical exercise and see if by abstaining I can throw the election to Miriam. Just for curiosity (I am not actually replaying the turn), I assume that means you all get a nasty-gram. I'll have to take some screen shots if this works.

As long as you don't discover information specific to this game (such as map info) when replaying, I don't mind.

So, Shawn, I'm confused. Did you send the turn? If so, I haven't received it yet.

Resent - sent to the wrong game/player. Sorry
I may just send the turns - 2168 and 2169 to Darsnan. I suspect he will find it interesting. I just realized that since I plan to turn in some artifacts next turn, a replay looks pretty dicey. By the way, I cannot discover too much map if I did replay, between infiltration and satellites my only question is where some of Yang's roads between base production zones go.

Morgan operatives have become aware of Spartan treachery against the Gaians. A Spartan mind control probe has just taken control of Alpha Sector base!
