2181 - Morgan. Sorry about the delay. I had to replay the turn. Luckily I had saved after all my combat, so there were no changes to that part of turn (habit I've made since my SP days).
I had some Drop/Cloaked Scout Infranty to turn over to the UN - agreement over dismembering the Hive that goes back over 20 years, and then as I did my end of turn review, the stupid game had turned it into a scout. I tried transferring another unit, and it did (checking that he didn't have all his unit slots full). Five years of planning down the drain due to a stupid game glitch.
So I replayed my terraforming/producton phases. That takes me over four hours, and this has been my first chance to do it again. Sorry about that. I saved the f**d up turn if anybody wants it, I'll have to end it and foward it if you do.
Also I moved the unit, finished the rest of the turn, upgraded it in the Design Workshop, and then turned it over. You can transfer units that have moved using Activate the Unit command, and then action - I wasn't sure but it works. I normally would not, it's questionable use of the Upgrade after all movement rule, but it was the only way around the glitch.

I'm going out of town for four days (starting Monday). I'm bringing my copy of SMAX, but I probably won't be able to turn the day I get it every time.

I've e-mailed Shawn and had no reply. He's in another game of mine that is beginning to search for the replacement.
I thinkthis one is so close that it'd be silly to recruit somebody just so that they can transcend, but if you guys want to I'd be happy to play my last turns. But just conceding that Shawn would have won seems appropriate.
By the by, this is my frist PBEM that actually went past the first dozen turns. I had fun, learned a lot, and even committed a few diplomatic gaffes! Thanks for the good time!

I agree that a replacement would be pointless. Shawn won, hands down. I'll play on if someone wants to, but as for me "Uncle". I hope to cross swords with all of you again here on Chiron so time soon.

Sorry about the abscence - I just got out of hospital. My cocktail of blood pressure drugs caused some really serious heart arrythmia, and I managed to get to the hospital before I went into ventricular fibrillation (it scared the sh*t out of my wife when they had to restart me). They've changed my drugs, and I seem to be OK. I am taking it very easy. My little girl loves having daddy home. Can I send out the final turn? I'd like to see how it ends in multi-player, I had the turn half-played before my hospital stay.
