Oh my, that was a cold, cold 5 hours.
The last period of the Regular Season game warmed me up though, because it was a lot more exciting.
I enjoyed the Alumni game, even if I didn't get to see a magnificent Gretzplay. Fuhr's & Ranford's stellar goaltending made up for it, and then some. (Did you see Fuhr's glove save on Richer? DAYUM.)
Anyway, it was a great experience. Extremely cold, but nothing a few trips to the heated bathrooms couldn't fix.
I think the coolest thing about it was just the communal feeling of the whole mass exodus towards the game, and within the game itself. There's nothing like high-fiving people you've never met before when the Oilers score a big one, or walking with a large group of fans in Oilers jerseys down Jasper Ave. as cars honk in appreciation. Ah, good times.
But man, was it cold.

[weeping openly]
An actress I work with very inconsiderately fractured a bone in her foot Friday night. Saturday afternoon I was called into rehearse and was unable to watch the game...

So, how many Edmontonians are at Apolyton ... and when are we having an official meet ? (... since it seems to be all the rage...)

I'll be 9hrs away during the break.
Where I'm from you have the long suffering, true-blue Canuckleheads and the insincere, spoiled, bandwagon jumping, Oil fans.

You mean the team that got beat by the Oilers in '84?

After winning 4 straight?
Oilers lucky to catch them at the tail.

So, the Habs won the first ever NHL hockey game played outside. I guess they'll have to win another 7 or 8 and then the Leafs MAY win 1.

Andy moog should have goaled nstead of Ranford...And where was Paul Coffey!?
What I liked is that the Oilers were like a teams back from the 80s....but the habs were a mix of 3 decades.
In the 80s Oilers were just a killing machine...What was their best season? 8 or 9 loses I think?

Did you SEE Ranford's acrobatics in the second half? The man's still got it! Still, you're right, it would've been nice to have Moog as well... That's why they should have had 3 periods.
And Coffey was there. He just didn't do much.
I don't think anyone would have believed me if I went back in time and tried to tell them Ken "The Rat" Linseman would be the star of the game.
