Is it an opinion of a commmon Apolytoner or do you want to say you will stop any effort of forum name change as the mod?

Well we've had a response from the brother of an official, but still nothing official yet.
Ming, tell us whether we're all wasting our time and +1ing here, or whether forum changes would be approved by "those who must be obeyed".
We seem to have reached as near as can be expected to a consensus here given the wide range of respondents, but is it feasible?

Jrabbit. However I think that the "General" title should remain a part of the name.
eg
"General/Strategy/Succession" or we could just stick with "Civ 2 General forum" and have all three of these listed in that forum. (pretty much like now )

Doesn't look like much of a consensus to me - even if you assume all the votes for other were for the JRabbit proposal, it still manages to get less than 40% of the votes.

Well I voted No, but if we're going to have a change then it may as well be a lagomorphosis than any other kind of change.

I think if you count all posts for the JRabbit's proposal, you will get a higher number than those 8 'something else' votes from the poll.

There are roughly a dozen posts that support JRabbit's proposal, but a number with some reservation. So even counting posts, there may be a simple majority, but not a consensus.
Mind you, in the end, it won't be decided by counting votes- IIRC Apolyton is not a democracy.

Considering debeest's recent remarks... I'll add my vote to Jrabbit's proposal. How about we contact the admins about this?
Edit: Or has it already been officially shot down?

Though I think this has already been decided to leave as is, I would think the best bet would be to combine both forums (General/Help and Strategy) into one forum. The declining interest in Civ 2 means that neither forum is as busy as it once was, and neither is busy enough to warrant it's own forum anymore. As recent actions suggest, even the regular poster don't know whether to post in General or Strategy, so why not give both a boost and combine them. I would think this would result in minimal effort for the archives, as they wouldn't need to be sorted, just combined (though I am only assuming this is simpler ). I think this would result in the best of both worlds, and mean that no poster, new or old, would need to search both forums for an answer to a question, or a thread from the past.

You would think so, wouldn't you? Still, Civ2 seems to have the second busiest forums, after Civ3!
