All I Really Needed Know, I Learned From Posting on 'Poly
What I have learned since I have been posting here at Apolyton:
1. There are actually old ppl in this world who know how to use a computer!!!
2. I am a racist. Thanks for giving me tolerance, or at least helping me find it.
3. I have never hated gay ppl as I have many gay friends, but at least now I know they are all nutz
4. vB code
5. That non-Repulicans are not completely wacko
6. That there are too many communist still in this world who think that it could actually work!
7. There's a country called Canada
8. No matter how hard it is to accept, there are ppl who hate America.
9. I have an addictive personality, and 'Poly is no exception.
10. No matter how hard I think my life is, there are plenty who have it worse than me
11. Finns are perverts
12. The internet is the information superhighway... I get all my news from Poly OT!
13. Words can hurt... not me mind you, but I see some of you get really mad...
14. There are some good things about religion, and some good ppl who practice it (thaks BK )
15. Lots of computer lingo...
16. Women don't post, or surf the web, because of guys like us... and yes, we are all geeks.
17. The world has become a lot smaller.
18. Dog lovers and Cat lovers exist in about equal proportions.
19. I really can't spell.
20. That individual opinions really do shape the future, and with a medium like this (this being Poly) there really is a chance that we might just be able to get along...
Anyone else?

Re: All I Really Needed Know, I Learned From Posting on 'Poly
What I have learned since I have been posting here at Apolyton:
1. Greeks are hairy, especially so if they speak against the UK/US.
2. The world is full of insomniacs which makes me feel at home.
3. I am gay since I kept bashing Boris.
4. Americans are clueless but nice people overall. Perhaps ignorance is bliss. Brits are much more European than American minus exceptions.
5. Zylka
6. Facists exist mainly because of ignorance but some really embrace that ideology.
7. Techno
8. Basically the world hasn't really changed although I admit I don't have first hand experience of how it used to be.
9. I have an addictive personality, and 'Poly is no exception.
10. I'm really much more intelligent and educated than the average Joe. Now if only I could get my life in order.
11. Israelis are nice guys and I feel a "bond" with them.
12. The ISP providers live off forums like 'Poly.
13. Greeks are gay.
14. Greeks are slavs.
15. Greeks are Turks.
16. Women don't post, or surf the web, because of guys like us... and yes, we are all geeks.
17. The world has become a lot smaller.
18. Dog lovers and Cat lovers exist in about equal proportions.
19. Americans and english really don't like France.
20. Never judge things based on 'Poly.

-I've learned, that if we take even random selection of about 100 people here on Off Topic, the collective knowledge and information database is huge and covers almost any subject there is, that is even without people using Google . Most likely you'll get some answers (proper ones) even if you ask a difficult question from very rare area.
-Russians are called Rooskies.
-There can be life even when you cross the 40 year limit. Most oldies here are good folks and handle the n00b.lingo, which is alarming.
-National diversity is one of the greatest I've ever seen.
-People keep up weird hours. Many claim insomnia.

I'm touched
Let's see . . . . .
1) Texans DO have a sense of humor -- even if they don't have the sense to agree with you on everything.
2) Not all Republicans want to starve unemployed people and put them into concentration camps.
3) Not all gays admire Cher.
4) American commies are not a threat -- they're just clinging onto a pipedream.
5) MTG is an industry expert -- if you don't realize that, you're a moron.
6) Ming is a golf fanatic -- along with his brother, rah.
7) Australia has people down there -- not just kangaroos and koalas.
8) Contrary to popular belief, Canada has no schemes to conquer United States.

1) I suck at arguing so being a lawyer is out of the question
2) Im not as smart as I think/have been told I am
3) The world is small, much smaller than I used to think
4) Canada isnt just a myth made to keep us Alaskans out of the lower 48, it really exists.
5) Texans are good people
6) I live in a mansion
7) Communism will take over the world, or burn all flags trying.
It's really hard to remain serious and not troll this thread to crap so Im going to stop and leave it at that

Re: Re: All I Really Needed Know, I Learned From Posting on 'Poly
3) Indeed. Nor Judy Garland, nor Barbra Streident. It's called good taste.....
7) Of course. Some strapping hunks too....
I have learned that a lot more connects most us, than divides us: that the 'Poly community while refreshingly, entertainingly diverse, is 'liberal' in the classic English sense of the word. No death threats and childish flaming here (well, there's an open invitation, if ever I saw one...).
That Sikander has disturbingly similar musical tastes to mine....
That Israeli posters demonstrate the meaning of grace under pressure, without realizing it....
That Lazarus's sense of humour is very entertaining. Love the alt.history tales- makes a change from reading about merino wool production or the economics of Habsburg Bohemia.
That there are a lot of s.f. fans out there.
That Buck Birdseed has an encyclopaedic knowledge of musical genres and catholic tastes.
That not all American Republicans are slave owning baby eaters. Maybe just half of them...

Apolyton has been great for me. It is the place where I can get a very wide variety of opinions and perspectives, not just the opinions of white hick republicans that live in Idaho.
1. Since I joined it I have learned so much about politics. When I first came here I knew nothing, and now I know some.
2. It has also taught me to realize that I have been brainwashed by conservatives.
3. I have learned that many of the opinions of the right are practically delusional.
4. I have learned about the theories and opinions of the left and have come to realize I was completely wrong. Now I am a leftist.
5. I learned that the US is not perfect, and that we can and will do bad things for the benefit of only our government at the expense of others. I learned we have done so much evil in the past we make Saddam look like a good guy.
6. I also learned that it is impolite to tell people from other countries that the US is the greatest nation in the world.
7. It has also taught me to be way more open-minded. Before I believed in what they brainwashed into me. I couldn't think any other way. Apolyton taught me I was wrong and to look at all parts of the picture. I have learned so much and now I can make much better decisions on what my opinions are.
8. That Bush is evil.

Nice to see that you have come back. Lately, you've fallen off the face of the earth.
As for what I've learned on Apolyton, communists really ARE that blind.

Yeah, I took four months off. But, since that was four months ago, I'm now back.
I'm a big disappointed that we don't have thousands of new smilies, though. I guess Stefu's been lazy.

I guess the only new feature that I can see is that support Apolyton link...
someone ought to pay all that bandwidth and make this place a bit faster again...
I guess as time goes by I just can't stand pages loading for ages on a broadband connection...
call me spoiled (which I am) but I still check in from time to time...

1. There are no penalties to genocide in civilized society. Razing cities and killing off all the workers is just dandy by everyone else.
