Help finding an old story
I remember a story I read (after Civ III came out if I recall, but not sure how soon after)
I believe the second part (thread) was called "Act of War: World at War". It was about an assassination by the Germans of Ghandi of India, and the Russians got in the way. Can somebody help me find it? the title isnt a long enough term to fit in the search, and I dont know if it could have been deleted. Help!

Well, I did a little search, and came up with nothing. Namely, I figured the word India has to be somewhere in the thread, right? But even such a non-restrictive search came up with only 13 threads. The oldest one being from December 2002. Now, I know that there were stories with the Indians in them before that, so I imagine the indexing of this forum isn't that great.
Now, I think I know what story you are talking about, but I am not sure. I abandoned this site almost right after Civ3 was released and didn't come back for a while.
Any way, no story with the title you gave exists. That's for sure. But maybe you can remember some more details about it? Like the name of the author would be extremely helpful.

Can't help you on the story but I had to mention that 006 was one of my favorite Bond bad guys. Sean Bean is very cool.

Hmmm… You probably mean some by some of the old writers here. Found a few while digging through that may include what you’re looking for (just used grundel’s name, he was one of the main writers of epics and commented on many of the others):
The Chronicles of Imhotep
The World At War… The Iroquois Threat
Operation “In Vino Veritas”
The Mercury Device, Part 1
That might help.

cbraud?
Is the salvation of the stories forum effected? Has the legendary cbraud returned? Can the rest of us watch our hopes in the next few contests scurry off in fear?
Yes, let it be so.

Wrong website. Its on civfanatics. I liked the story too but he never finished it. I think the name of the dude was 'recon' or something and his avatar was the standard special ops one. Try going back 1.5 to 2 years but there's mostly rubbish on that forum with names like 'I won my first game on regent!' and search function doesn't work so the search may take awhile. Why do you want it so bad?
Skipie, you sound like you are wooing cbrand.
