Mars Project terrain tiles & other ideas
I created several terrain tiles just for this scenario:

Just give some of the numbers that you would definitely like to see in the scenario.

And I need some ideas on something else.
I need to know what different types of colonial governments there should be, and which governments in Civilization II they should replace. Any ideas?
I'd also like to say thanks to the Civilization II community for their generous contributions to this scenario so far.

Polaris, how about these:
Despotism: Exploration Committee (due to the lack of knowledge about resources, etc)
Monarchy: Colony Administration (more knowledge, but inflexible)
Communism: Scientific Administration (OK use of resources, but inflexible)
Fundamentalism: - Capitalist Authorities (more keen on harvesting resources then researching Mars)
Republic: Self Government (Mars ruled by 'Martians')
Democracy: Democracy

I like the terrains 3, 10, 14 and 20 (and the others too, but that wouldn't help you in choosing among them). There's just one slight problem, terrain graphics can look marvellous on their own, but look horrible when there's a large patch of the same terrain. 6, 10 and 14 may look too obviously repetitive when used in large amounts...
By the way, I like the governments Case suggests. Maybe you could also have a "Mission Control" government type, if the scenario is still a bit earth-oriented. That government wouldn't be very effective due to the communication delay and total communication absence when Mars disappears behind the Sun. Maybe that could be Anarchy renamed, Earth is only in charge when Mars is between governments.
Another thing, I believe there's a movie called "Red Planet" (with Val Kilmer, amongst others) coming out soon or already playing (or even no longer playing). Maybe that could give you some ideas.

Thank you Mercator. I too like those government types; both Case's and St. Leo's. Though I'll go with a more realistic than sci-fi approach and choose the types more off Case's.
I also like those terrains. Personally, number 11 is one of my favorites.
Keep in mind that these will be changed through events. So, number 10 may be replaced by number 16, 17, or 18 later on as an example.

I'll check out that movie, though I read reviews from critics saying it was horrible (however, I did read a review of Thirteen Days that said it was horrible, and I saw the movie and it was superb; so I will check it out).

All the Terrain types are interesting, but I agree with Mercator, the real test is how do they look together. Cases's government types are perfect!
