Soda Poll II
I can't remember the outcome of the last one I made, but it doesn't matter, since there are some new regulars around here now than before.

Anyway, in the immortal words of Milo Bloom and Michael Binkley, they all "taste like malted battery acid."

Oy.
If you look at the map, the South says "Coke," not "pop." The coasts say "soda," and the rest of us say the right and proper "pop."

That map is interesting.
In the south its quite apparent they don't know the difference between Coke and anything else.
New England and California are obvioulsy civilized referring to it as "soda", which it actually is.
The great plains are ignorant as well, referring to it as "pop".

Dr Pepper
One funny thing about root beer:
I was in canada on october, and I bought a bottle of root beer (I don't remember the brand). I didn't know what to expect for the taste of it, I was open-minded about it. But still it surprised the hell out of me.
Root beer tastes like Vademecum (a mouth refreshener). My gf and my sister could not drink it, so I drank it all. It actually wasn't as bad as it may sound
It was a funny experience

What no birch beer??
After thinking many fond thoughts about birch beer, I went with Dr Pepper (seem to be just about the only yankee who loves it)...

I actually wrote a student paper a month or two ago about the pop vs. soda thing. That got me thinking that I'll need to write a paper about English in Turtledove's "Guns of the South" for the same course for the next week, and probably should soon start writing it instead of hanging on Poly. Naah.
Anyway, Dr Pepper is the only choice. Heathens.

Ginger Ale. Come on! How could that not be a choice?
I prefer Schweppe's, but I'll drink Canada Dry if need be.
Heck, they're both owned by the same company, anyway. Secret monopoly!

Yeah, I can't believe you included umpteen different kinds of malted battery acid, but managed to neglect an entire category: Ginge Ale / Ginger Beer!
Stewart's Ginger Beer for me (if I ever find it again)!
A&W Root Beer otherwise.

Just to note, no one as of yet has voted for ANY Pepsi or variation (Cherry, Vanilla, etc.).
C'mon, we all knew it was bad, but I know at least one poster said they liked it in the last Pepsi vs Coke thread.
