Devil Whiskey Demo is out
it's at http://www.devilwhiskey.com/

For all of us fans of the Bard's Tale. I've played it a bit, and it seems to play just like the old BT games. They've played with the classes some, and even the warrior classes have special abilities, but it seems very, very familiar.

the one problem I'm having is that my P3-800 with TNT2 video card is having trouble keeping up with it, even with all the stuff turned down.

I'm still going to try it out some more...

Come on, aren't there any Bard's Tale Fans remaining?

I've been spending most of my free time on this. I Love the way they've redone the classes, but it's a pain sometimes to wait around for the stores to open..

My little party is up to level 7 and exploring the one dungeon that seems available in the demo. Lot of fun

I was a Bard's Tale fan. I don't have much time for games these days, though, I still haven't gotten around to a whole bunch of games I want to play.

but the interface is so slow, and there's no information on what the spells and so on do..
I don't know if a broad sword is better than a longsword etc

and the fact that you have to type a letter each time makes this very very time consuming!

also with my 8 characters battle information goes so quickly i don't even know what's going on

there's a PDF file included that tells what the spells do.

on weapons, you can check the price for an idea of which is better.

there's a command to slow down or speed up the display of battle info.

However, I do agree that the interface is very slow and typing can be difficult to get used to.

yeah especially since I'm not used to it
My first RPG I can remember is BG1 and in that game one could use a mouse
Ever since RPGs have been included with a mouse interface I think..

Well, I've reached the limits of the demo. Once you reach level 13 and become the next dude on the path, it won't let you level up anymore. it says something like " all our instructors for higher levels are gone. perhaps if you would purchase the full game?..."

I may continue playing long enough to see if I can solve the dungeon puzzle, but the fun of gaining higher levels will have to wait. I'm broke now, but I may end up getting the full version sometime.

I learned to counter the slow interface somewhat by stacking up keypresses. the biggest gripe I have is that I can't read the notes people keep passing to me. I mean, I read Naris Note, but I can't make sense of the harrassment note or all those watcher notes. maybe I'm running at too low resolution
