Hmmm, what exactly is the problem? I simply use the IEs "save pic as..." option, then they are saved as normal GIFs, why do you canīt save them? And if you will use some of these units in an existing scenario, simply cut/paste them into the units.gif of the scn.
ANZAC, your modified units look very good!

You canīt use the unit editor from civ2 for units from these compilations, because they have not the same layout as the civ2 units.gif (e.g. ANZACs infantery collection has much more units slots than a normal civ2 units.gif).
What you need is a graphics editor like Photoshop, PhotoPaint or PaintShopPro (shareware, from www.jasc.com ). MS Paint will also work, but, as far as I know, only with .bmp files, not with .gifs.
A little workshop:
-start your graphics editor, load a units collection
-use the editorīs selection tools to mask the rectangle area around the unit you want (this is easier than it sounds, the helpfile of the graphics software should explain the details)
-copy the selected unit via the "edit" menu
-load the units.gif/.bmp of the scenario you want to change, then choose "paste" from the "edit" menu
-the copied unit will appear as a separate object in the scenarioīs unitsfile, use the mouse to drag it into the desired slot, then you have to combine it with the background (consult the helpfile)
-save the units file as.bmp (easier, but bigger filesizes) or .gif (DEactivate tranparency or interlace options for .gif pics)
Hope it helps...

Hi BeBro,
I tried this before I read your post.
I used the little MSPaint thatcame with my pc. What I did was pretty much what you said. My only problem now is the flags. I noticed these blue dots along the edges of the unit picture. I know that this is where you place the corner of the flag or something like that. What I do is go into the unit editor in Civ and change the position a little, then look at the unit, and repeat. Its time consuming, but I'm getting used to it.
Thank you for your help too. I am embarrased to ask a lot of questions, because they are so simple for you guys. I may start a Klesh's Scenario Design Questions thread, so bee on the lookout for it!

Always copy and paste the unit including the upper and left frame lines (And the blue dots!) That's a good habit that will save you having to fix the shield locations all the time. Don't copy the lower and right frame as this will override the shield position on adjacent units.

It looks like the link to BeBro's site is broken... Has anyone placed all these units (WWII Tanks, Planes & Infantry) on their site?
Since Alex is no longer updating the War Gallery and BeBro's site got squashed by his ISP, I would like to see my units/cities/terrain collections available on some Civ 2 site... Any takers?

I updated also my profile so that the homepage button works now correctly.

Once Shadowstrike fixes his site, the units should be there (right now none of the graphics are showing up...)

Sorry to bump this topic, but, where can I find Nemo WW2 files? They don't appear in the thread anymore, Shadowstrike's site doesn't seem to have them either, and my bookmark of BeBro's site doesn't work... has he quited Crosswinds? I think so, but I don't know where to find his site now...
Help, please!

Hi Fiera, help is here: http://civ2000.civ2.gamesweb.de/webs...iv2000news.htm
This is the newspage of my new Civ2000 website, choose the link tho the "units" section on the left side, there are Nemoīs masterpieces online again...
BTW, the site is currently only in German due to the redesign, but the English pages should be available soon. Iīll post again when the site is "fully functional"

I seem to be having an annoying problem. The addresses for the pictures and the UBB code are right and the pictures are still accessible from website, so If you want to look at them, just right-click the pictures and choose properties and use the web address there. I'll work on getting the links to work.

PS I've been away, so I didn't see this thread until now.

Strange: Sometimes the pictures come up, sometimes they don't.
It seems like the Allied Tanks on page 1 always come up. Are they at the same location as all the other files?
I have not sent you the balance of the units... Sorry. I will try to get to it soon.

Gocities doesn't let you link externally to the image files, so what everybody willing to see the files have to do, is copy and paste the link into their browser adress bar, or, click on the link, and then goto the adress bar and pulse return when the Geocities problem page appears. It works.

Fiera: Just realized that about Geocities; well the addresses are there if you need them.
Nemo: I checked the first page again and nothingshowed up not even alliedtanks.gif. They're all at Geocities. No rush on the graphics, I 'll be waiting...

ANZAC:
No question, the Allied Tanks are always there when I open the thread. The other graphics on page 1 never appear but if I leave page 2 open for a while I also get the Planes, Infantry and German tanks. Never the Russian Tanks.
Maybe there is a shorter time-out limit set by Apolyton for loading files? I should check some of my graphic files too.

Very interesting!
I now can see all the gif files if I use the "Back" and "Forward" arrows in the Internet Explorer to navigate back to one of the pages I opened.
Any idea why?

Whoa! That is really weird... well if you want to see the graphics, just use back and forward I guess.

Right now everything shows up for me when I use the Back/Fwd keys, including the Russian tanks, BeBro.
Not really sure how that works:
1.I open page 1 get just the Allied Tanks and "red X" for the rest
2.I open page 2 get all red X
3.Use "Back" key on MS Explorer and I now get all the graphics on page 1
4.Then use "Fwd" key and now I get all the graphics on page 2
Very weird
