Has anyone tried Eharmony?
I keep hearing the radio ad about Eharmony.com and how it will match you up based on proven dimensions of compatibility. Has anyone here tried it?
I am real tempted to sign up just to see if I get to meet anyone interesting...

God damnit...
I just spend a half hour taking their personality profile only to be told:
Quote:

eHarmony is based upon a complex matching system developed through extensive testing of married individuals. One of the requirements for it to work successfully is for participants to fall into our rigorously defined profiles. If we aren't able to match a user well using these profiles, the most considerate approach is to inform them early in the process.
We are so convinced of the importance of creating compatible matches to help people establish and enjoy happy, lasting relationships that we choose not to provide service rather than risk an uncertain match.
Unfortunately, we are not able to make our profiles work for you. Our matching system is not suitable for about 20% of potential users, so 1 in 5 people simply would not benefit from our service. We hope that you understand that we regret our inability to provide service for you at this time.

the personality report that I received upon completion was highly accurate, though, mainly because it restated all of the things that I said in the questionnaire

I did not know that. I am about 28% through the questionaire myself. Hopefully, I am not wasting my time.
Although, I guess it is good that they have high standards and don't just mix and match anybody to anybody.

I also hope that if it does give a good match, that the girl will live fairly close to me. I'd hate to be told that my dream woman lives in siberia or something. That would be a bit far to travel. LOL.

You'd think they could match up the people in that 20% with each other: "You think for yourself. You're unconventional, etc."

Not necessarily. There are some people who hate themselves.

Took the quiz...The results were off, and they couldn't find any matches for me anywhere in the world.
 How sad.

Well, I finished the survey. I don't have any matches yet.
I also got the message saying that they will only match me up with someone who fits absolutely perfectly because they want to find a real match not just a nice dinner date.
Heck, I am not picky. I'll take the nice dinner date.

My personality says I'm this good guy with whole lots of nice features... even I know I'm a bastard!
At first I got scared like I searched my matches and there was a picture of this old geezer.. I was like WTF, is this my match? We'll see.. uh process completed, I'm nervous...
At this time, we are not able to identify a match for you. We require that any match we provide be highly compatible with your values, beliefs and attitudes. This standard means that thousands of eHarmony users are often not matched right away.
yeah I knew it.. but this mean I'm unique and original.. I'm not interested in internet women anyway! They don't have what I'm looking for, they suck and are ugly anyway and not sexy at all and I'LL BE ALWAYS ALONE NOooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
EHarmony MY ASS!!!

Ha Ha Ha. This is so rich! You mean that absolutely no one from 'Poly who answered this survey got matched up? Either eHarmony is an utter scam used by spam mailers to fish for likely marks, or we are one sorry lot of losers. What do ya think guys? Maybe we need a poll for this.

well, I expanded the search to include the entire US. I figured that should give me at least 1 result. After all, the US is a large country. Nope, nothing!
Maybe I should just stick to the old fashioned way of getting a date .... just asking girls out and getting rejected lots of times .... either that or booze!
