love actually is a GREAT film. Did you see it??

Timeline - I never said it was film of the year material, it was just far more enjoyable than I expected it to be.

Does Gigli count as a 2003 film for the US? I haven't seen a single mention so far, and although I wouldn't dare go, I'm sure there must be someone who has.

The Hulk is the most underrated film of the year. Finding Nemo is the most overrated, but still good.

Best:
Mystic River
Seabiscuit
Pirates of the Carribean
Kill Bill
X-Men
Old school

Worst:
Daredevil (the cheese factor killed it for me)
Timeline (again with the cheese)
Matrix reloaded (I think my expectations were too high)

I just rented a movie called Gerry that starred Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, and I couldn't sit through more than 15 minutes.

I think that its time I started boycotting Ben Affleck movies!!!

BTW I wish that I could put Pearl Harbor on here (Damn that movie was piss poor!!! and I'm still fuming about it)

Yet to see: RETURN OF THE KING (which I'm willing to bet anything will be on top of the list)

I think a film that qualifies as the worst of All Time shouldn't make a Year's Worst List. It sort of transcends the rest of the field and would probably be unfair.

Agreed on the Hulk... made me puke, they took almost an hour for anything to happen! Worse movie Ang Lee has made yet.

I'm glad you liked "Lost in Translation" as well. I hope that more people get out to see that film. It is playing here in Santa Cruz in one of our Art House movie theaters in one of the smaller rooms.

As to the Friedman film, yes indeed that was excellent as well. I think its title is "Saving Friedman."

I have not seen American Splendor. But, since you and I agree on the other films, I will go see it or rent it ASAP.

Agreed.

I also just like to say I had a similar reaction to "Basic" with John Travolta. I think this film was from last year. Good cast, trailers, etc. But it has to rank up there with the most horrid plots of all time.

I saw Down with Love on the Airplane and also thought it sucked, but was good enough to kill the duldrum...

Never heard of "Lost in Translation". Ned, whats the name of the Art House, I might hope over the hill this weekend to see it, unless it's raining. I hate 17 when it rains.

The best film I've seen this year is probably City of God. Honourable mentions go to T3, X2, Pirates, Kill Bill and Finding Nemo.

Master and Commander and Matrix Reloaded were okay.

Matrix Revolutions, Tomb Raider 2 and the Italian Job were not great (although not terrible).

Of course it was, what are you talking about

Sorry, my mind must have subconsciously thought that Ben had a part in it, because I had such a hard time sitting through it.
