My girlfriend has been very reluctant to go to the movies lately, which has cut down on the number of films I've seen this year considerably. The best film I've seen so far is probably Lost in Translation. I disagree with those who categorize this as a romantic film or love story though. The movie is about friendship winning out over a doomed romance. It's about wisdom and love in the universal sense, and for actually being about something that I could relate to it wins this year's best film in my book. (Btw, I saw this with a smoking girl who happens to be 10 years younger than me and one of my best friends, which may have heightened the experience for me.)

I still haven't seen very many movies this year.

But I did just see the Last Samurai. That goes on my list as the best.

And I still maintain Kill Bill on both my best list and worst list. The movie was cool and incredibly stupid at the same time.

T3 is also on my best of list.

I think that's about it. I really don't make a point to watch bad movies, so I really don't have any others on my list.

Dissident, I saw kill Bill a couple of days ago and I agree it was really some movie. It seemed to take the genre to a whole new level.

"I also watched Santa Clause 2, I liked that one"

I didn't think that was possible. One of the worst movies of 2003. It makes the Core look like "L'Aventtura".

"It seemed to take the genre to a whole new level."
Which genre?

Kill Bill volume 1 was pretty darn good. Not the best, but quite excellent.
