Sons of Heracles released!
Finally it is here: Sons of Heracles; The tale of Sparta!!!!!!
It is available at the European Civilization site (Thanks Thomas!)
Soon it should also be available at BeBro's site and Civfanatics, and, possibly at the Spanish Civ2 site.
Be prepared for an update (graphics etc.) in a while.

I'm glad you made it official, Stefan. I've had several people ask for it, now they can get it.

I was expecting something completely different...
but I like it
I guess that we have to attack the green civ first because the give us settlers, but it´s a hard scenario, I don´t think that I´m going to be able to make any great stuff
what is our goal in the scenario??

Stefan, for the update(s), perhaps it´s better to use only one point objectives, for the MGE users? Fortunately I have MGE and FW separately installed, but not all have both versions.

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, what were you expecting?

Yes, that's one point, the other is, that I discovered that if you don't immediately go for Messenia, the Messenians will go for you

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to gain power over most of the Pelopponesian penninsula. That is, you should control over about one or two thirds of the cities on the map at the end of the scenario. Your options are either bloody war or diplomacy. Bloody war is recommended in early stage only against the Messenians, while you should choose diplomacy at first with the Arcadians and the Argolians (the Arcadians will be loyal allies). Should you or any member of your force be caught or killed, the secretary will disavow all knowledge of your actions. This message will self-destruct in five seconds.

You have a point there, but the original idea was that three-point objectives are small or not easily accessable cities. Should I make all three-point objectives one-point while removing all other objectives (that'd be more challenging)?
About the next update: It will include sounds! Yes, I swear, I have recorded some music clips from the movies Spartacus, Gladiator and Ben Hur (Thanks Napster ).
I'm already working on a new city style for the Spartans. But it will all take a short while, don't expect it too soon

Exactly what happened in my first try...now I have to start again.
Stefan, for the objectives, you could switch them all to one point without removing any other objectives, I think it´s difficult enough (but I´m of course not the Civ General).
Last suggestion: an adapted pedia file with some info about the wonders etc...

I was expecting something more like Peloponessian wars,
I feel a little dissapointed with the scenario, there is not a lot of action and to keep citizens happy is really hard, I´m not putting the helots to increase the city population because then all the cities go in desorder, and I have small cities so science rate is too low...
any hint that you could tell me??

Here's what you SHOULDN'T do: Go to war with EVERYONE!
It's especially hard since I've only got the King and one Hoplite left. There's plenty of defensive units holding tight in the cities and selected defensive redoubts, but that's it for my "O". This could take a while....
Nice concept Stefan. Definitely a very different kind of scenario.

The scenario is really tricky-thats good!
The Spartan hoplites are useful in the begining when you try to conquer the southern Peleponnese, but after that you need stronger stuff to conquer the north.
What do I do with all these Helots???
I decided to add the people gif I had made for the John Elis Hellas scenario and included some of its units.
Well Done Stefan!

This does not surprise me. I suppose there is more fighting in this scenario than in any of my others, but it does not bring you as far.

Tough, eh? There you have it, the dilemma situation that I had so often in other scenarios. (How do we say here: Revenge is sweet )

That was what I wanted to do. You see in all of my scenarios there's a lot of action, a lot of fighting, a lot of units, and the protagonists often have easy hand. I just wanted to see what it's like to start with nothing.

Well, one idea is to save them for a while and see wether they come in handy. If not, save them so long until you desperately need to build something, something which requires a lot of shields (A WoW or maybe a phalanx) and disband them within the city screen to get some more shields. In a way, you can treat this as historical: The Helots working themselves to death for the Spartans.

You have a point there, I will no doubt include a people.gif file with the next update, but I'm not sure which icons I will use.
Thanks everybody for your nice comments!

Go for the military techs, go west to build your empire, and trade and extort the other techs with the Eastern tribes.
