Don't be silent complain about the 7 civilization limit in Civ 3 general forum!
Maybe they will still change it if enough of us complain. Please, also mention that you are a veteran scenario maker and what the limit will mean to the scenario making community.

As the release date is just months away, I think it is to late for any major change. Whatever the number of civs, it won't change. We can only hope that advanced reports are in error.

Nobody knows the release date yet. Maybe there is still time. It takes only very little effort to type something on the mentioned threads and the effect might be enormously positive.

Roman you´re right, only 7 civs are a shame. Added that to your thread in the Civ3 forum.
Chris, is there an official release date given by Fireaxis?

It's not official, but the taget date is late November or early December, for the Christmas holidays, is what the latest word is.

More than 7 civs is the least we could ask for, and they've blown it already. What is wrong with the game companies? No matter how hard I try, I cannot imagine what possible motivation any designer could have for sticking to the 7-civ limit. You know, my hopes for the next civ game did not include ONE SINGLE THING, except more than 7 civs. THAT was all I wanted. Everything else; who cares. But more than 7 was the VERY LEAST they could do.
Now we find out that Firaxis can't even manage that.
I am dumbfounded. What derogatory term carries sufficient weight to describe such a stupendous blunder? There isn't one. Sticking with 7 civs; It is inconceivable.
Firaxis; it figures.

Well, I did have some further hopes (making resources useful), but for me the number of civs was also the most important factor.
Please, express your views on this also on the Civ 3 General/Suggestions forum - that is where Firaxis looks.

I'm sorry, Roman, but I don't think they'll care that much for whatever emails we send them...
In fact, that's one of the points of my article. Exile, I think you'll find it's pretty faultfinding towards Firaxis. There's been enough praise to Firaxis on this site, they certainly deserve some criticism.

This is of interest to scenario creators and players, however there are perhaps enough links to discuss this matter further in a more fitting forum...
