Restart
Do you restart the game if your starting location seems too bad for a fair game?
I sometimes restart several times before getting a starting location outside a rainforest or a desert.

I will restart several times to get one I feel is interesting and reasonably playable. It's no fun if your capital city is in a rubbish terrain or if you don't have enough room for a few cities before the AI cuts you off.

I've become so disgusted with myself due to the number of times I restart that I have placed myself on a "no restart for any reason" ban.

I will continue to enforce this ban as long as I show the potential for self-defeating habit of restarting. I have become addicted and have self-organized an intervention on my behalf, for my own good. I don't like it, but something had to be done.

In a similiar vein, I also now select RANDOM for everything -- including the civ I will play. I became entrenched in bad habits and decided I need a clean break.

I'm currently playing the Koreans (would have never picked them on my own) on what looks to be a continent world, slightly dry and perhaps average temperature....except I'm not 100% sure as I have not explored the whole world. You see? That's already more exciting....

No re-starts for me anymore... I might even follow SG's example.

I never restart. The AI has enough advantages. I will quit a game if it becomes obvious I will lose.

I only restart if I am testing a scenario/units and my start is very detrimental to that test.

I am not a restarter perse, but I do bail out of games when I get bored. C3C has make playing one or two ages very common for now. Mainly as I wanted to see different aspect and different levels.

I restart flagrantly. The game is for my sole enjoyment, no shame in wanting to have a decent start. That said, I don't wait for a 2 cow river ivory start. Sometimes I do get fed up with restarting, but oh well....

I don't restart but after a few hours of playing a crappy starting position, I often wish I did. I can handle AI advantages in production and science, but I at least want to be able to grow my cities past size 6. The game gets pretty boring if you have nothing to do but watch workers hack away at jungles.

I've never restarted. I also don't finish many games either. My worst start was in the middle of a huge jungle. The whole screen was jungle but I thought I'd give it a try. Brutal start! I think I quit after having 2 cities.

I restart far less these days - tiny islands, extreme jungle or tundra is about it really. Now that I have C3C, however, it is a struggle for me not to restart when I realize I do not have Ivory.
