You may say as after shifting the 70 or so Franks across the Bosphoros straits into Anatolia you are suddenly ambushed and anhilated! Thats the trick of the game and you must learn strategies to aviod that ,highly possible, situation from occuring.
however if you do shift the Franks across and make it unscaved by turn 2 into enemy territory I can assure you that once you have strategically placed the units in safe (as possible) positions the game will start to roll on rapidly and you will figure out which of your FRankish units are best to have combat the Seljuks.
