excess of everything is bad for you. One can even die of drinking too much water.

I think it might be also something else in that amount of tea which would make you feel peculiar. So, decrease your medication.

Let's see, you're working on water poisoning (I don't know the technical name) with a hefty dose of caffiene? Of course you feel weird. Let your body eliminate the extra fluids, and you might want to get some electrolytes at the same time (but don't go overboard on those, either). Plus do you drink it sweetened. If so, a megodose of sugar, too. YOU SHOULD STOP NOW.

yep, drinking too much water can literally drown your own body.

I don't recommend it.

It has already been proven that the recommended 8 glasses of water a day is bullshit. Because that doesn't take into account water content in food- which is considerable. It has been noted that drinking only when you are thirsty is sufficient under most circumstances.

My wife has told me she'd feel weird after drinking Green Tea.

Could just be the tea, and the excessive quantities.

I bet your blood sugar is soaring, at least if it was sweetened tea. It'll come down if you stop, though.

sweeten tea? i thought the whole point of tea was that it wasn't sweet. it's not the blood sugar.. i do normally drink a lot of fluids throughout the day, so it isn't a case of that...

in order to drown your body, you need to practically drink your weight in water....

Not true.

I believe brain swelling can start at around two gallons over less than two hours.

You're pretty close.

no, I think 6-8 litres of water in a few hours would be enough, considering that you are not dehydrated in the beginning.

in another words; what Madmonk just said

Too much water disturbs the salt balance in your cells. Drinking too much water is as bad as eating too much salt.

there's also the fact that tea is a diuretic. and what goes in, inevitably comes out.

hell, some people get water intoxication when running marathons. They are constantly drinking water, and then suddenly they stop (at the end) and all that water they drank has no place to go.

I think some girl got it recently by drinking 8 glasses of water in 1 hour- though she was a small girl with less body weight. There was a thread in Poly about that. They were wondering if they should charge the parents with abuse or something.

The moment you are thirsty, you are already dehydrating and thus too late.
Drink in small quantities and all should be well.

that's bullshit

it's only too late if you are doing very, very strenuous activity.

Most humans never work out that hard.

There's a reason why we have a thing called thirst. It's to get us to drink enough fluids.

Think about it. If it was too late, and we easily died because we didn't drink water when we weren't thirsty- human would have never survived. Do you think the caveman was smart enough to know he had to drink water before he was thirsty? And I'm sure they were much more active than most people in the western world.

In summary you only need to drink when you are thirsty- unless you are some professional athlete who overdos workouts.

There are also times when you need food but aren't necessarily hungry.

A lot of people mistake thirst for hunger.

Drinking too little or too late does not kill you. It only increases the concentration of waste products in your kidneys, which can lead to kidney stones. Drinking early can prevent that.

Working outside during the summer I drink 3-4 litres a day (12-16 glasses).

You only start to feel thirsty when you are 1-2% dehydrated. Its fine to reach this point. 3% is raging thirst/headache. 10% is dead.

that is completely different tho, i meant in the routine day. At track meets in the late spring, where here it would get up into the 90s farenheit, i would easily drink a gallon or more of water through out the day, and continue drinking more that evening after i went home. But im sweating like a pig and losing alot of water. im sure the situation for you was similar. However its not uncommmon for me on normal days to drink maybe only a half liter of FLUID in a day (including juice and soda), and im still here in good shape and my pee is almost clear
