Same settings for both games?

Another thing being discussed is whether both initial maps will have the same settings or not.

This a a poll please vote yes for same settings and maps and no for different settings and map.

I would very much like to see the same maps and settings used. It will show us how much start postions can do to make or break a team.

Agreed. It'd be great to see what two different teams do with the same start.

Yes, definitely. Then we can separate the winners from the whiners...or something like that.

Same settings:
Having different game/map settings would alter the how the game is played.

Same map: :
Yes, it would be nice to see how different teams use the same start, but there is an information problem. Lets take the PTWDG for instance. Lux started out with no resources. Now if another team were playing the same start as Lux did and their game lagged behind, there would stand a great chance that this second team would discover the lack of resources well before they should. Basicly, pace and tech level will effect the game in different ways. The same map simple would not work (and this is without even mentioning map trades and such).

Talk between the teams of seperate games should not be allowed for that reason. As long as no one is talking about there land/resources then there shouldn't be a problem.

Naturally, you are correct. However, enforcing/governing this will be next to impossible between games. It has already proven to be difficult to govern in the PTWDG, where people have even tighter lips (I am NOT pointing fingers, just stating an example).

Id say yes to same map and settings.

*Maybe* randomize the resource allocation between the two though. I don't see anything else as being a signicant problem. Even that isn't much of one.
