Apolyton HOF Voting begins
Again... The Apolyton Hall Of Fame voting begins.
And as usual, the organizer has ignored the civ II and most other communities by only posting threads about it in selected forums...
So don't forget to let your voice be heard. Vote for those deserving people who you think belong in the HOF. Go here and vote...
http://www.apolyton.net/forums/showt...hreadid=104051
You can vote for three people. I voted for two Civ II people who deserver to be in the hall...
Oedo... the fact that he isn't in yet shows what a joke it is that all the demo game players are voting for their buddies...
War4ever... enough said.
I also vote for Reismark because of the sports pools he sets up and runs on behalf of this site.
So if you think some Civ IIers deserve to be in the HOF, remember to vote. Don't let the organizers screw the Civ II community as he tries to rig it for Civ III and demo game members.

Voted as requested, my third vote going to Cavebear.

I agree... He does what "HE" wants... probably wants to make sure that he gets elected this time
There will be some changes
That's why I'm promoting it here... since he doesn't seem to think this community is worth it

He has rigged it for the newbees... focusing on the Demo games and the Civ III forums... ignoring many of the communities that have been around much longer.
It is now just a personality contest... and many of the people being voted on have done very little for the site or the games the site supports... He's made it a joke.

Well good to know Ming is looking out for us Civ2ers.
But this begs the question... Whats the Hall of Fame?

Ok, I've edumacated myself a bit, and at least read the forum. Crap, almost every person in the HoF is an OTer. And none of the OTers even voted for me
But Raz likes me! Thanks Raz!
I voted for all Civ2-MP folks. Deffinately EyesOfNight. He deffinately deserves to be in in my estimation.

Actually... There are many of the old guard Civ II people in the HOF. But it does take some effort. It looks like with any kind of luck Oedo will make it... Since I'm not a big Diplo game player, I kind of forget how much you have contributed to Diplo games and therefore Civ II. I'll have to start voting for you next time around.
If the Civ II people remember to vote, it can make a big difference since most of us have been around long enough that we get more votes than the newbies.

Yes, quite a few of the those elected were MP players at one time, or still are.
AH, ming, myself, adam smith, zylka, paul, Taz RIP, Xin Yu.
It's up to us to get others in.

I voted oedo, Samson, and Scouse Gits.
(I voted last time but didn't see my votes in the DK list. )
(The fact that SG(2) died and was admitted doesn't change the fact that the Gits have contributed a lot and deserve consideration.)
I will continue to vote for GAMERS on this GAMING SITE, especially Civ2ers, since that's the game I play, and the game that AFAIK built this site into something meaningful. There are several deserving who are largely unknown in the newbie (=Civ3) and non-gaming (=OT) portions of Poly.
Plenty more worthy Civ2 candidates not in my top 3 --
Reismark, solo, War4Ever, La Fayette, etc.
Let's get out the vote!

You won't see your specific votes from last time. Those have been added to the totals that were used to start this round. The list is for this rounds votes, to insure that people haven't been counted twice, or to make sure the votes have been tallied correctly. He's a few days behind (no surprise due to the large amount of work required), so your votes from this time will eventually show on the list. If they don't on the next update, PM him and provide a link to the thread/post.
And I retract my moron comment... after a few discussions with him, he has gone the extra mile and added threads in some more forums... It will be more fair now, and that's all I can ask for. I just don't want to see the Civ II crowd forgotten. Civ II was the game that many of the people originally came to both the original sites for... our HOF'ers need to be remembered

sorry. I 'wasted' my votes on three OT-posters this time. I don´t even know anymore, which ones.
stupid me, instead of supporting my supporters...
SG, solo, samson and EoN definately would have been worthy votes.
next time...

Thanks Ming
But I wasn't begging for votes or anything. Or even suggesting that... But I sure appreciate it anyhow.
Oedo, you can change your votes I believe.

I didn't think that you were... but I want to keep making sure that people that have contributed to the Civ II community get support in the voting. And you have done just that.

I voted for our ol buddy War4 in such regard. I remember just starting up those setting up games with you guys two or so years ago - and not being able to think of anything other than iron and gold terrain squares during a shift of work. Wondering of repeated battlefield adventures with War was next in line

or useless
What might be effective, is having a community vote everytime around - to collectively decide which 1 or 2 worthy players to focus on until induction. It is a disrespectful joke, but then again the HOF itself is a bigger joke. Fire with fire

Something to consider the next time the HOF voting occurs.
We kind of had informal discussions on that topic last time around... with Oedo being on the top of most people's list.
