naanaa, voti sunt servandi. plus I mainly posted OT the recent months and I certainly had my reasons voting for lotm, Azazel and Dissident. theyīre nice and clever guys.
it was my fault voting that early and I donīt want to offend anyone by retracting my vote.

NP... there is always next time. It does look like we were able to get you into the top 6. You are currently in 2nd place, so at least we will get one in this time.

Yeah, but still too much voting to go and we may have shot our wad. Let's dig up some dead bodies "Chicago Style"

"I donīt want to offend anyone by retracting my vote."
I hope I didn't offend you by retracting my vote for you...
It looked like you were an overwhelming shoe-in, so I figured I'd cast a strategic vote for another Civ2-MPer. But I thought of you first, no hard feelings I hope.
And I am correct to assume everyone who is over 100 votes gets in, right?

No... only the top 6 go in this time. So if by some chance, a late surge by other candidates push enough people past Oedo, he won't make it, even with over 100 votes so far.
So folks... spread the word to those old friends of yours who don't frequent the site as much as they used to... This site was built on the back of Civ II. It's only fitting that the deserving Civ II people make it.
And if we can get Oedo in this time... the Diplo game players can be next on the list. Oh, and I'll keep voting for war4ever until he gets in... Now if only he will show his face around here. He must be really whiped by his latest girl friend

Ozzy, take a look at your avatar, there you see, how I feel about that.
seriously, thereīs absolutely no problem. however Iīm a bit amazed that DarkCloud is so certain about me and the other three beyond 100pts. the votes will still run for more than one week and there are more than 45000 users registered to this forum. probably all of EyesOfNights DLs alone could mess the whole rankings up.
War4Ever and Scouse Gits still have realistic chances to get in this time. I believe many people didnīt even know that they still may vote for Scouse Git 1.

this would still lead to OT and Or Demo Game forums getting their fav in, as Civ 2MP just odnt have the numbers anymore.
Would be good to maybe have one inductee from each Section.
Just a thought

Yeah... you should be more visible. But the numbers would indicate you have a solid chance to make it next time when the next three get elected in march or april.

my condolences to the Gits, young and old
as for the HOF, one day i will get there, when you have good friends going to bat for you, eventually everyone just puts you in, to shut you up
look forward to more posts from the wacky War4

Naw, too many sections. And alot of them are obscure.
Could it perhaps be that we value ourselves too highly? Still believe Apolyton revolves around Civ2 when it clearly no longer does? Could we be a bunch of old timers unwilling to move on, let go or adapt? Are we desperately clinging to a small and diminishing niche in the broad world of empire building games?
Or are everyone else a bunch of wussy retards?

Even a skill based Civ 2MP HOF wouldnt work as there are too many diff types of games that not all play.

of course not all HOF entries from differnet sports aroud the world only recognise the most skillful, many time sthe recognise the most influential, and that is not necessarily their skil level.
For instance, if we had a Civ2 MP HOF i think people like frank would need to be on it for his dedication to mod building, not that i saying his skill elvel is low, it isnt, but i would recognise hime first and foremost as the mod builder.

Skill in playing or designing MP modpacks/scenario's.

well we could all vote as a mp block on one of our choices ... to get some of the old mp group in there
there seems to be a good deal of group voting with the OT people. I remember long ago and far away
ming had to drag me and slow to the OT kicking and screaming.

We've been pretty good in the past voting as a block... paul, xin yu, and oedo have all been highly promoted before, and were all elected. We just need to discuss it quickly whenever DC decides it's time for the next round.

I'm gonna vote only for civ2-mpers, and I'll reserve one vote for whoever the community pick de jour is. Probably War4ever next time. One vote goes to Eyes, cause he is a royal pain in the ass. And one vote goes for whichever diplogamer I feel like honoring that day.

I for one desperately want Civ 2 (in all its forms!) to be the jewel of Apolyton's crown... Dammit, can't someone turn back the clock?
