Joining... Questions...
My friend gave me Civ III Gold w/ PtW as an early Christmas present, as he's going to England for Christmas. Now, despite my earlier criticism of Civ III, I figured as it was a gift and that I didn't play with PtW last time, I may as well give it another whirl. And, it's actually not as bad as I last played it. Bugs are fixed with the patches, and it'll keep me entertained for a while yet (or, until I find Conquests )
So, I decided I wanted to join a PtWDG (as the CtP one stagnated) to learn about the tricks of PtW and Civ3 so I can actually enjoy it and not fall into a fit of rage with it as I did last time. A couple of questions:
#1: What patch?
#2: Which teams will take me?
#3: What is the average turn-go-round time?
Thanks

1. 1.02 or is it .04. But the game right out of the box seems to work fine.
2. Team Monkey is a fine team - and would love to have you. But our original team moderator (Zero) has gone completely AWOL, and Konquest02 is having problems getting authorized by MarkG. But that will be taken care of shortly, and you can join. We are Carthage. And we are Simian.
3. Depends. We have done a complete turn in less than day - but I would suggest we are averaging a complete turn every two days. See the Saved Game Thread for the exact timing. That is where each team posts when they have played.
Welcome to Civ3 demo gaming!

3. It averages about 36 hours per team turn.
2. Team Sunshine would be glad to have you!
1. We are using patch 1.27f

If you're interested in food and eating as well as playing Civ then Tabemono is the team for you.
As to 1 and 3, BigFree is right.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

I don't know if my university maths are enough, but was 9 used to be smaller than 15? Just a thought...
Happy Sunshining Frozzy!
Btw, all the problems in joining team monkey are now dealt with. So if someone want to join, I can authorize him easily... (now that I know how!)
