Well Ned, the genetically modified crop thing tends to come down to a thing more of public hysteria than anything else. Yes, I agree that there should be more research into GM crops after the Pusztai experiments, although discredited. More from the point of view of allaying public fear than proving anything. My problems with GM foods are actually more environmental in nature (too harsh a selection pressure, you get resistance very quickly). In reality, there is not a perceivable risk. The risk from this vaccine is somewhat more perceivable, even if minimal. As I said, thus far, crop modification have provided all necessary evidence to the FDA and other appropriate bodies depending on region. FDA are the most stringent in my experience. Every other body tends to follow suit.
