It's an ironic republic, like China's "Peoples' Republic".

And I believe he said public, not re-public.

I'd like to call a new title into live: the honourary title of "Stakhanovite". The title was used in the USSR for a worker whose output was said to be well beyond production norms.
As for the origin of the name, in 1935, a coal miner called Alexei Stakhanov dug 102 tons of coal in a single 6 hour shift. This was fourteen times more than a miner was expected to cut. Stakhanov was praised as an example to all other workers and was rewarded.
Here on Chiron I would like to award the title to the most productive spammer in this Colony Pod thread. At the moment that is Octavian X. Congratulations!

Good point... We're already 20 years in the game, so it's unlikely we would still be drinking in colony pods.
How about we rename this thread to "The Feeding Bay", as that's the Hive variety of a rec commons that Lal mentions in his rec commons blurb?

Tassadar stopped it. And so stopped the surge of activity in this forum.

Most of the activity was when we were planning the game startup. When that was finished, suddenly everyone became too busy.
