Cruddy, I think you are beginning to understand that protection of workers is a phenomenon of capitalist free market economies, not socialist or communist economies. Name one communist country that ever allowed a free and independent union? Yeah, Poland. And as soon as they allowed Solidarity, the commies were swept from power.
Communists and socialists are much more interested in maintaining their position in power than in providing free and independent unions which are the source of protection of workers. Thus you will find really good jobs and really good protection of workers ONLY in free, democrating, capitalist countries.
So, rather than wishing SOCIALISM on the third world, you shoud be advocating that they adopt democracy and free market capitalism.
