Anyone seen the movie "Bad Santa"?

Great for the cynical anti-Christmas fanatic that resides in all of us. Build a parody to stand the test of time!

I gotta admit I can't seem to get myself into the mood this year. My boss died earlier this year. For the past eight months I've been worrying about losing my job, all the while I've also had to pick up his patients as well as continuing with mine. Office staff have left us like rats deserting a sinking ship. I haven't had a vacation in two years. The owner's wife finally found a buyer, but some of the office managers have been hinting that maybe there's something going on that won't be very pleasent for us. Meanwhile I'm working like a dog in the midst of this flu epidemic; I saw a total of about 250 patients last week. Speaking of dogs, the family hound got KO'ed for keeps last week by a SUV.

Well I hate to follow your sob story with these sentiments, but....

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!

Got my tree.
Got my cards (need to start writing them).
Got my ultimate Christmas music custom collection.
Got my Santa Hat (I wear it everywhere).
Got the lights on the house.
Got the lights on the tree.
Got the lights on the car. (oh yea, colored Christmas lights on my car. It rocks so much.)
Got other Christmas decorations on my car.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS

i don't believe in santa claus-
his corporate image forced upon
the blinded spending masses,
to enslave the lower classes

with obligatory gifts that serve to cleanse
a year of guilt and shame.
one token gesture justifies
the apathetic, hypnotized.

leaving them to be kris kringle's slaves.
oooh!
buy! buy! i won't do it.
the seasons obligation has not my participation.
buy! buy! i won't do it.
the money hungry mating call of corporate swine.

it's only for the money!
it's only for the money!
it's only for the money!
now buy!

he monitors naughty and nice-
big brother is st. nick!
methodically his judgment made
documented on his list.

i- don't believe in santa claus
or his mystical facade
to teach the children wanton greed,
they're lust for gifts becomes a need.

brainwashed by the marketing
and victims of the corporate scheme.
material possessions becoming they're obsessions
till human life has lost it's value
and you blindly do just what they tell you
i don't believe!!!!

his tactics of intimidation repress the minds of youth
using fear for generations, his image hides the truth
he's just a puppet for the system, a glutton in a suit
with yuletide propaganda and a bearded mask to boot!

... yes. i hate christmas.

I am the enemy of some things that Christmas signifies:
(POWER UP THE RANT ENGINE)

Enemy of:

1.
Purchasing of items unnescesarily.
Sure we support each-other, but why do we $!#@ing have to BUY THINGS to signify that?
Is our support and appreciation not enough, or is a friendship only as strong as the commerce flow it generates?
What prevents us from doing the following:
"Okay, I'll give you $50, you give me $50. There, we've given each-other gifts."
It's gift-giving, it breaks even, people get something useful.
But no... people in all their 'wisdom' opt to sending money to a third party, getting something which is less useful, and concealing it for a couple of weeks.
People are such idiots to follow the tradition.
In reality I hate the conformism and stupidity of people, not the tradition, but I disagree with the tradition.

2.
Enforced Family Reunion.
Okay people. $!#@ you. $!#@ you all, I hope you $!#@ing rot in hell you $!#@s.
That's my effective thoughts about my family.
While my mysoancestry may not apply to us all, I have to admit that I hate the idea.
I've long been a vigilante, protecting children from things which attack them. Why force children to be subjected to the tyranny of a family?
What do you do, punish them for disliking their tyrants when they express dissent at a family meeting?
That goes WAY too far in my books, and I'd kill anyone who vilified their children for not respecting them.
The same goes with other people, too. Adults. Why the $!#@ should we be 'inspired' to remeet with people we told to $!#@ off so long ago?
So if we don't follow this insane social regime we are disrespected?
Ladies and gentelmen, this is bullshit. People should be allowed to have their solitude without disrespect for their lifestyle, and christmas encourages this intolerance.

3.
Religion.
Not a big issue but still an issue. Yes, I know who Jesus is. No, I don't want to be part of your brainwashing club, thank you.

4.
Christmas Spin-offs
GIVE ME MY $!#@ING TV BACK YOU BASTARDS!

5.
Single-mindedness
*ugh* $!#@ off the lot of you. I'm not interested in your frivolous purchases, your impractical tree, your annoying illumination, your cheesy cards, your Santa Suit, your Christmas cheer or anything else that fills your impressively ignorant mind today.

6.
Cheer, and Vilification
Let's just say that some of us prefer our apathy to the ways of the hedons. No need to use christmas as an excuse to push your views on us.
You are NOT entitled, not even for ONE DAY, to extol and spew forth your views on the way to live. I don't care that you think it's the way it should be, you're a moron for thinking you're absolutely right.
Y'all are entitled to your cheer, but I'm entitled to my analysis, so take your christmas cheer, shove it down YOUR OWN throat and damn well choke on it.

-Powering down the rant engine-

Late last week, I was rushing around trying to get some last minute shopping done. I was stressed out and not thinking very fondly of the Xmas season right then. It was dark, cold, and wet in the parking lot as I was loading my car up with gifts that I felt oligated to buy.

I noticed that I was missing a receipt that I might need later. So mumbling under my breath, I retraced my steps to the shopping centre entrance. As I was searching the wet pavement for the lost receipt, I heard a quiet sobbing. The crying was coming from a poorly dressed boy of about 12 yrs old. He was short and thin. He had no coat. He was just wearing a ragged flannel shirt to protect him from the cold night's chill.

Oddly enough, he was holding a hundred dollar note in his hand. Thinking that he had gotten lost from his parents, I asked him what was wrong. He told me his sad story. He said that he came from a large family. He had three brothers and four sisters. His father had died when he was nine years old. His mother was poorly educated and worked two full time jobs. She made very little to support her large family. Nevertheless, she had managed to skimp and save two hundred dollars to buy her children Christmas presents. The young boy had been dropped off, by his mother, on the way to her second job. He was to use the money to buy presents for all his siblings and save just enough to take the bus home. He had not even entered the mall, when an older boy grabbed one of the hundred dollar notes and disappeared into the night.

"Why didn't you scream for help?" I asked.

The boy said, "I did."

"And nobody came to help you?" I wondered.

The boy stared at the sidewalk and sadly shook his head.

"How loud did you scream?" I inquired.

The soft-spoken boy looked up and meekly whispered, "Help me!"

I realized that absolutely no one could have heard that poor boy cry for help.

So I grabbed his other hundred and ran off.

I used to like Christmas but once your family has grown up it gets rather repetitive and seems to come round so quickly.

Nowadays I have taken to going skiing each year and that is great. My brother and sister in law go to the Caribbean. Often enough my dad (in his eighties) flies over to Australia to spend Christmas and the subsequent months with my sister.

Each year I drop one more of the traditional things that go with Christmas - this year I have not bothered with decorations and a tree. But I feel a bit of guilt about that.

Anyway I've asked Santa for some great snow in Cervinia - and to dump it on the slopes not down the chimney. A pretty and unattached blonde in my ski class would be good, too.

I enjoy it, the smell of the Christmas tree, the different foods (I haven't had chocolate for months now ), drinking champagne on Christmas morning and eating chocolate coins, how the house always seems warmer, and going to the pub on Boxing day.

Reminds me..I got a bit of Christmas shopping to do...

As a pagan I enjoy the Midwinter Festival (the one the Christians tried to steal from us by calling it Christmas). It is nice to move into the part of the year when the amount of daylight time starts to get longer again.

Then I look at all those people running round in the great annual orgy of consumerism, dressed up as a religious festival and quietly smile to myself, knowing I'm not going to receive a huge credit card bill early in January.

christmas is about giving, not receiving.

anybody else going to be at midnight mass?

they way xmas and santa claus have been worked up... it's sickening. just the other day, i opened up the rag ajc and saw as an ad for bloomingdales, i believe, the words: "all i want..."

christmas is not about "me".

The consumer orgy is unattractive, isn't it?

Maybe we should just drop the present giving part. Parents could buy a toy or two for their children and the rest of us concentrate more on throwing parties and such.

Presents could be reserved for birthdays.

Religion? What religion? Have any of you seen any one of the half-dozen puppeteered/animated/claymated versions of the origins of Santa Claus? OMG! Santa was rasied by demi-godlike wood spirits? Santa was raised by Jack Frost? WTF? If there's anyplace in the USA where there is still a movement to remove Christmas decorations from school buildings I would refer the school board to watch Hollywood's version of Christmas, which should convince them that Christams has become politically correctly paganized.

I used to hate christmas. After I stopped celebrating it altogether that feeling faded. Nowadays I just don't care.
