Map Editor Problem
I found a good Euro map(attached), but its got a lot of excess land in the north and east that I don't really want in my game. I'm using the MapEdit program to try and cut that stuff out, but it keeps screwing up the map.
Its an 80x125 map and i'm trying to shrink it down to 63x100.

If you're taking off land at the top of the map, make sure it's an even amount of lines.
It's because of the isometric nature of Civ2 maps. Each other line is indented half a tile from the previous one. So if you cut off an odd amount of lines at the top of the map, that whole indentation will be inverted, screwing up your map in the process.
If you were to lose the original, it's easy to recover though. If you add/remove one line (or any odd number) at the top the indentation will invert back to the original, so to speak.

Ah, thanks.
I played around with that with the width, thinking having a width of 63 messed it up, so i tried even numbers of 60 or 62 or 64.
I never thought a nice round number like 100 would have the problem. But yea, its a matter of what is taken off, not what is left. Thanks
