Hm, my starting position is pretty weak, just 1 special and no trade from it to boot. So I don't know why we're making all these special requests from other people with stronger positions, just trying to get a 4 whale start, when I'm stuck where I am, with no hidden specials to turn, and potentally sealed in from all sides on narrow land.
I'm not exactly a sucker for the painful start like some people, this is just where I ended up, so expect to hear about it all game, espically if you're one of the current whiners trying to pick up your 4th whale or box me in more. ^_^

Not sure why Berz is getting a crash with the scn. It all looks fine here.
So, I'm changing French start to Gauls at 41/9; but I don't think I can easily change the Spanish blue to Chinese blue. I'll have a look now.

OK, fixed the Gaul start but can't change the the Spanish to Chinese blue without going back to the map and starting all over again! To tired for that

I think we should finalise units before we start the game, because it could effect strategy, even at this early stage. Do Legions get the pike flag? It would be nice to encourage their use in this classical world after all!

That problem is fixed.. the designs themselves aren't quite finished. Did you switch the spanish and city txt properly? Also check the new thread for modern unit changes

Last minute very important thoughts
No non-combat unit guiding!!!!!
But combat unit guiding is OK (including paradrops).
Science paradigm set at 20/10. This should insure the diversity of opening strategies unlike monotonous straight line to monarchy we all are pursuing.
No tech stealing with diplomats or increase the cost of diplomats to 80. This is to prevent easy way of getting techs without investing in costly research. Tech stealing allowed with spies and spy cost increased to 120.
All exploits listed in Rah rules prohibited.
The speed of all naval vessels increased by 2. Trireme unaffected. This is to reduce the significance of Magellan and Lighthouse.
SDI available with custom technology Anti Ballistic Missiles. Prerequisites the Laser and Fusion Power.

In regular games its usualy just the last tech you need for GP.
