Also, we should all be on the same page with version numbers. I think E_T said he is playing unpatched. The program may seem to run fine, but I think it will be using different formulas to calculate corruption, among other things. In this case, I think this might only hurt E_T. Still, it doesn't seem good practice to have players using different rules in the same game.
For the same reason, everyone should keep a version of 1.12 available to play turns with, until we all agree to upgrade (probably with the official patch next month).

Well I feel we should only be using the official patches.
And I believe that it was agreed quite early on that we would use the 1.12 Beta patch....
 w have a lot of patches here now

I'm using the 1.12 Beta and it seems OK but I don't want to use another beta patch after that one, I'd rather wait for the full patch to come out.

AFAIK, the newer patches are mostly fine tuning corruption formulas, but 1.12 was a clear improvement over 1.00 and has been stable so far. Are you finding problems with the 1.12 patch, Sir Ralph? Does corruption impact your strategy over the first 60 or so turns?
If not, we can get a big jump on the official patch by starting now, provided everyone uses 1.12.

The emails should get through now. The game is doomed to be one of my slowest, though.
I don't use neither 1.0, nor 1.12, nor 1.13, nor 1.15 for epic games, and won't in the near future. I put the game on the shelf. I will play it again after it's out of the beta phase. For the tournament I'm playing 1.12, as was agreed to.

Patch: I only started using 1.12 after it was apparent that it didn't have any bugs. Now, since I'm not really liking the changes they made to corruption calculations in 1.15, I'm waiting for the next patch. As I understand, there isn't any conflict with players using 1.12 and 1.00.
Timezone issue: So long as this thing is stalled, how far has game 4 gotten? Would there be any objections to just stopping the game and starting over again? I wouldn't mind creating a new map.
Status report:
Game 1 will probably start tomorrow, since that's when my semester finals end  . Tarquinius is dropped, and Conqueror, the only other player to have sent me a password, will be his replacement.
Game 2 will start when I get another password sent to me. The next person who sends me a password will be considered rogerub's replacement.
Game 4, if it's participants have no objection, will be restarted.
Game 5 will be organized once I get yet some more passwords.

I would like to have this also go as smoothly as possible, BUT, I also know that BF is up later than I am, and with the weird scheaduales that Paddy and I both have, I really don't think that it would have any real effect if we go the other way.
Lets give this 5 turns or so to see how it works out. BUT, To OctX, I reserve the right to ask for a time change, If it turns out to be too much of a problem.
