Looks OK to me. I guess we have a couple of days to wait until everyone is back from the holiday period.

Pacific Time Zone. I can generally play from 9:00 to 12:00 in the evening (once my daughter gets off MSN).

I'll create four maps, then. We'll see where it goes from there.

Here are some map specs:
All maps are random with slight modification in cases were starts were unfair to a certain person. They're all small pangea, with 60% water. Temperature, Age, etc. were all random. Your barbs will be restless.
To hurry up the game, you'll notice something different from maps you may be more used to. There's no ice caps, and Y-wrapping was enabled. Basically, when you get to the top of the map, if your unit keeps going, he'll end up at the bottom. Like I said, I'm hoping this'll speed up games a bit, as well as make for a more interesting one.

Tiny, 70% water, please. That was what we agreed to.

What's that good for? If the maps are pangaeas, navies don't play much role anyway and water will connect north and south.

I vote no for y-wrapping
I think I might have found the problem in my game, but I'm still not completely ready to play (Have only installed vanilla Civ3, and got lots of other things to do)
Does anyone have any older drivers to logitech mice?

Should we have a player who can take over a game for a certain player for some time, until this player can get back playing (To keep the game flowing)?
Every player gets an index number (Which number the player is in his own game... taken the above playing list: smellymummy gets index 1, CerberusIV gets index 2, etc). If a player can't play the game for a certain amount of time (or maybe he can't even get online to tell others) the player with the same index number in the next game can take over... Here's an example:
If GhengisFarb can't play his turns, then alva has to know GF's password so he can take over for him... or if Sir Ralph is unavaliable, then E_T has to take over
Of course this only works if there's a temp problem
And some other thing: Should we have a "rule" that a player from each game posts the scores for each player (in the game) at certain times (Maybe each 500 years or so), so all players in the tournament can follow up on all games???

GMT -6
Isn't it more relevant to post the times ususally available to play a turn? For the time being, I can play around 6AM and 6PM GMT.

I think the obvious solution is to buy a new mouse, along with a brand new driver. Optical mice are pretty darn good and always their moneys worth.
Oh, and btw: to y-wrapping as well as to predefined different replacements. I still think the idea of a "game mentor" or "game referee", who gets all passwords and all saves as CC and plays if a player is not able to play in a predefined time (48 hours?) in a fair and unbiased way. This works well in other games (Civ2, CtP), so why not here?

Totally agree with Sir Ralph in all points
to Y-wrapping, cos it makes no sense.
As for the replacements, yep also agree, thats what referee´s are for.

It's not the mouse, it's the new drivers to the mouse... and I'm not going to buy other mice than Logitech

Have you checked on the Logitech web site for driver downloads?
