Unless I hear someone complain about making it random, I'll come up with some random playing list for the games, tomorow...

I live in the East coast of the US (EST), but I'm (currently) only available to play in the evenings. Because of working Temp jobs, my work (and thereby, free hours) might change without notice.

Sorry, but that little thing we call 'real life' has been getting in my way.
Anyway, let me get this straight...
-Four players
-No AI
-small map
-pangea
-70% water
-restless barbs
-slight modification to ensure no one gets a very bad start
-all other settings random
If that's right, I'll create four maps right away.

Because tiny maps are for 4 players, period. The game is balanced this way by map size, number of civs, corruption, tech rate etc. If you play with less players on larger maps, you expand longer than the game intends you to, and you get completely corrupt cities out of it. This is a tournament, and the closer we stick to standard rules, the better. Additionally, smaller maps make for faster games.

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it.
EDIT: the grin could be because deep down I may just approve of a little corruption....

Fine, if it's a tiny map. If the map is small, there must be six players in one game.

OK with me. I also would prefer tiny map size - we don't want this to drag on too long.

With the minor change of the map size, this looks good...
... When will these maps be ready?
Who'll start the different games? The first player for each game (as in the playing list)?

We have some choices:
1) Oct sends World seed number to first player and he uses that to start game (only if no modding of resource's took place).
2) Oct plays every players first turn by simply skipping everyones first turn. He can set passwords if all players PM him a password.
3) First Player is allowed to become "admin" for that game and sets admin password himself. The game would have to be loaded under the "Scenario" section and he would see a preview of the map.
4) Not sure

1) Sounds good. Resource modding was never discussed I think.
2) That´s a fair option, too.

I should have said "any mods to do with player locations or resource placement" instead of what I stated. The World seed number only produces the map(resources and all) and does not place Civ's. Since Oct will have to check to make sure all starts are equal, option 1 won't work

Option 2 is really the only way to do this.

Option 2, with little changes in the Scenario Properties:
- Set "Start Date" to 4050 BC
- In the Time scale setting, change the "First" option from 25 to 26 turns
- Check the "Time Limit" checkbox
- Set the the "Turns" setting in the "Time Options" to 541
This way we start as usual 4000BC. The last 2 steps are only for the sake of completeness, the games will hardly last till 2050AD.

I too am curious. I was thinking that the game might end up being random civs, but if not, then I'm OK with that too.

ADG, I have one Issue of Importance to everyone. It's your posting on the full e-mail Addresses in your above post. We have posted them, with things like AT, DOT, NOSPAM and other methods, so that some bot does NOT come along and pick them up for the purposes of spamming us.
Please, please edit your posts, so that this doesn't possibly happen. We are Intelligent enough to work out the correct Addresses from that point on...
