Nice game in Philly today. The Eagles just tied it up with a minute left.
Oh, and I just heard that Jamal Lewis is only like 155 yard away from the NFL record for rushing yards in a season. If he gets it, is he the MVP?

A great game in Philly... And the 49ers won on a pick then field goal in overtime.

Its a crime that Tony Parrish didnt make the probowl team. With 9 picks, he leads the league.

And this means that if St. Louis beats Detroit next week (hehe) they get home field advantage in the playoffs. So if it comes down to Phily v. St. Louis, they go in the dome in St. Louis where the Rams are undefeated in like the last 15 games.

Fun game tonight.
Denver is up 14-7 on Indy. Plummer is looking pretty good, and Portis is out (damn it... I needed Fantasy points ).

The loss of LB Carlos Emmons (broken leg) for the rest of the year will hurt Philly's Super Bowl chances more than loss of HF advantage. Half of their defense is 2nd string because of injuries throughout the year. 209 yds rushing allowed today. Yikes. Oh well, at least we're not Atlanta.

Yes... giving St Louis Home Field advantage will make them tough. It could be a ticket to the big game... all they have to do is beat Detroit on the Road.

It'll be insanely tough to beat the Rams at home. If they were forced to go on the road in the cold, they would probably lose. Philly is rooting for Detroit.

The Rams will put much more pressure on McNabb than the 49ers did, especially on turf. He's not nearly as good under pressure.

Indy D is getting tough! Just held them on the one. Turnover on downs.

There is one chance for Indy. If they score a TD and get an onside kick, thier D won't have to take the field again.

Denver's got the ball now, deep in Indy territory... doesn't look good for Dungy's men.

Denver (my SB pick in week 3) is now IN the playoffs.
And that was without Portis.

Well, time for the "explaination" speech.
When Dungy took over the Colts, he said he would fix the defense in 2 years. So, next year they should be good.
What irks me about the Broncos victory is, not that the defense couldn't stop the run, it's that they played like individuals at a Pro Bowl. Nobody was supporting Freeney in the defense. Manning was forcing the ball to Harrison. Wayne was on the wing open. Pollard was poor. And there was an air of complacency about the entire team.
And, to be frank, I could count 6 calls by the officials which would have possibly given the Colts the edge. 1) Rod Smith not having possesion of the ball 2) holding on Freeney which would have made it 4th and a mile, as opposed to 1st & Goal 3) Roughing the passer when Washington tried to stop when Plummer was on the run 4) No pass interference on Pollard when he was held back trying to catch the ball 5) Pass to Edgerrin which would have had a first down, nope, ineligable receiver. How the hell can a RB be an inelegible receiver??? 6) Pass interference? First on the wrong guy, secondly he never touched him.
I think the Colts will get to the AFC Championship Game, but 3 things have to happen:
#1: They need to support Freeney and stop the run. Be like they were later in the game
#2: Manning needs to look around more and not just at Harrison. Against a good DL he won't have the time because Harrison will be double and triple covered and he'll be sacked before he can get it away.
#3: Give the ball to Edgerrin James more often.
I get to see the Colts play three times a year, and this is by far the WORST performance I have seen them play. The only god thing about the entire game was the ESPN background music for tis particular game (a song I highly recommend. One of the best I have heard)

I assume they called ineligable reciever downfield and not James being the ineligable reciever.
And don't simply say that Indy lost and give no credit to Denver. They have a GREAT offense and a solid D. They'll be a terror in the playoffs, IMO.

Dungy doesn't impress me much.
edit: Were they playing against the pass too much, or was it just me?

Hey, I am giving credit to Denver. We wouldn't have had these problems exposed had we not played as good a team as Denver is.
I'm just saying that when we meet Denver in the play-offs again, we'll be more prepared

Dungy is a very good defensive coach. Indy doesn't have the talent. What he has done with them this year has been great.

And we'll have our starting secondary. What's your point?
TBH, the crowd were out of the game after the Colts failed to respond to the 14 point Broncos lead. Had the defense not been so OTT in their blitzes, then the crowd would have still been in it and Indy would have had a chance.
In the end, it came down to not having the ball, and that will be something to work on. In Griffin and Anderson, the Colts were working with unknowns and didn't respond until the 3rd quarter.

I think the game showed that Denver is an amazing running offense and the line dominated Indy's D. Portis is one of the best RBs in the league and should do even better than he backups.

bwhaahah Vick sucked another week... it's just too bad Brad Johnson sucked more and gave up 4 picks. But the Bucs almost came back. Good game.
GO BEARS
dammit Vikes won... ****ing Chiefs... YOU SUCK
As for Denver: Portis is good, but he can gain 150 yards and still not do ****... at least that's what happened when the Bears OWNED Denver in DENVER!
Dungy sucks... Peyton Manning is a pud... both those guys can't win a big game to save their lives. If Peyton wins the MVP, then the award is bullshit. Peyton is a great QB, but he ain't clutch... and you might as well be **** if you ain't clutch. Indy will get bounced out in the second round (because if they don't get bye in the first round, they will play a pud team like the Bengals).

In the second half the defense did a much better job cointaing the runners they had never seen before. They couldn't plan for them, they had to plan for Plummer. But the back-up secondary was toast against the likes of Sharpe etc.

Vick sucked another week
|
He played the 2nd best defense in the league, completed over 50% of his passes against them. Threw 2 TD and NO INTs. I'd say he played pretty damned good this week. Your hatred for Vick is clouding your judgment.
After all, with Vick they are 2-1, and both wins against a good opponent. Without Vick, the Falcons were 2-10.

How is gaining 150 yards not doing ****? It moves the chains, gets you in good field position. Obviously if you run for 150 yards and don't score many points, the passing game is to blame. The running game did its job.

So that win against Tennessee? That wasn't a big game? What is a big game then?

I think Tampa Bay might disagree with that statement.
