I like to cook, it's the washing of dishes that I don't like.
|
Hehe,
Washing up I don't mind, drying the dishes on the other hand..
Not that I ever do, I let dry in the dish-rack(?)

I like to cook; I like to eat; I don't mind doing the dishes after, either.
Last night's effort:
chicken thigh fillets coated with a mixture of Aussie spices (dorrigo pepper, wattleseed, mountain pepperleaf, lemon myrtle, akudjura, and also Indian amchur) seared in a pan until browned then kept hot in an oven, while the pan is deglazed with orange/mango juice and a dash of balsamic vinegar, a reduction made, the chicken served on the reduction with herb and cheese polenta and steamed greens.
Ironbark honey and blended mascarpone/ricotta with chopped preserved ginger and lemon zest to follow. Now if only I could get a bigger kitchen....

I love cooking most of the time. The results are usually edible in my opinion, but others tend to disagree (not that i would ever occur to them to set foot in the kitchen themselves )

I do fine cooking- I can make stir fry, which is mainly preparation-
I have not tired baking anything except porkchops, chiken or some meatloaf- maybe I am warry fo yeast.
But I am a decent cook-so when I mary this can be a shared duty and pasttime.

I don't particularly like to cook, but I will do it if I'm hungry. When I finally break down and cook something it is usually quite delicious. I'm particularly adept at meats, "Mexican" food and breakfast.

I love to cook. Right know I have homemade manicotti in the oven...starting to smell real good to!
Like most guys, I do pretty well on the grill. Ribs and marinated flank steak are two of my best. Indoors I enjoy preparing Italian dishes..my best is probably chicken parmigaen for a formal meal and stromboli for informal...both take a lot of prep, but thats the fun of it!

Same here. I enjoy creating things, whether cooking or drinks. Chocolates seem to taste nicer when You've made them yourself
Today I had my first experience of making a liqueur. Hoping it'll turn out ok (and won't *quite* blow the head off anyone who drinks it)

How do you make liqueur? I've heard of adding bourbon to eggnog, but that's the extent of my knowledge of alcoholizing something.

By taking alcohol and infusing it with various things or adding flavouring's and spices You could do one step further and distill the alcohol yourself, but I don't have a license for it

Well, it's a natural; progression from cocktails

If you want it to be liqueur like in alcoholic strength, you need to distill it. Or just use a base spirit (grain alcohol).

I've never tried that. I've made chocolates for a while, and some turn our very nice I've had some trouble with making hard flavoured chocolate, and the best I ever did is still the first batch, which was slightly alcoholic and spicy, but the latest ones haven't been too bad.

I voted I like to and am ok at it. I can do some intricate things, like chocolates, desserts and fajitas with many different dishes to go in them, but I don't cook that often so I do mess things up at times

Touche' Drake
I think this thread needs to be alive for a while for the rest of the gay Apolyton community to put their two cents in...but don't get me wrong. Just because someone is gay does not mean that they are "comfortable" in the kitchen (take my partner for instance ).

There's a piece of the turkey called the pope's nose. Parson's nose if you're a Protestant, I think.
Tasty, anyway. Wittlich is right by the way- being gay is no sure sign of culinary interest or skill. My other half is happier building sea kayaks or flying gliders. Show him a fish kettle he might think it was something to do with fractionation or the Bessemer process....
