Is this too much?
I just watched a movie called Anything Else and enjoyed it tremendously. So what? It's a Woody Allen movie. Seriously. I liked it.
Is this a sign of needing someone to take me into their custody of care? Should I call 911 and get me an ambulance? I'm thinking of getting the rest of the Woody Allen movies too. I used to hate them very much, but now.. I don't know.. is it full moon?

I don't know.. I never understood them.. I didn't thought they were any good, vice versa they made me aggressive and wanting to bash some stranger faces in. However, now I feel comfortable, kind of relaxed and enjoy it very much.. the humor is kind of intelligent, but it's still ok.
Men with white coats, you're not taking me in without a fight!

i want to see anything else. i like some of woody allen's work, too. one of his earliest appearances is casino royale, and it's magnificent.
but yeah, woody allen the man is kinda gross. he married his adoptive daughter.

I hate woody allen. i hate his neurotic "humour", i hate his spasm "demenour", i hate his geek "appearance" and i hate the lie that that kind of dork could ever hope to have such goddesses as his girlfriends in his movies. there 's a prequisitive for being such a neurospastic abomination of nature and scoring such babes: have philosophy so you can bullshite your way to them but he doesnt even have that.
having said that i didnt see Anything Else nor am i going to so i cant really comment

I'd rather plunge my head in a bucket of shite than be made to endure one of his films. Watching a spasm reveling in his own psychological excrement is not my idea of fun. there's a very simple truth: being a spaz isn't "cool" no matter how much he tries. The epitom of life failure, as an attitude.
But as I said I haven't managed to ever watch a single one of his moives from start to finish and besides having this pathetic shivering shrunk next to julia andrews or what have you constitutes an hybris of unparalleled proportions. The farse isn't even hilarious, he's a razor to your nerves
But about tastes, pumpkin pie of course

I think Deconstructing Harry, while not one of his best works, is one of the more underrated films in recent years.

You can only see if you like the movie after you begin watching it. There is only one exception I have - I don't intend to see Titanic, ever (And anything by Britney Spears either)

Make that only Titanic. It was tailor made for 13 year old audiences.
On the other hand Britney is a young artist trying herself in the new field and I shouldn't be harsh on her

Woody Allen rocks. I like a lot of his stuff, though it is true that he has made a large number of contractual obligation formula comedies recently in order to be able to keep making more serious films that don't have the box office draw to otherwise justify their budgets.
I really like What's New Pussycat (just saw it again last year and its still got an amazing combination of Allen writing and acting, Peter Sellers and Peter O'Toole acting, and a collection of amazingly hot babes), Casino Royale (I just bought the DVD) Take the Money and Run and Bananas. These were his earliest films, and they are all pretty funny.
After these films Allen tends to be much more unpredictable. His films tend to be more serious in general, as well as autobiographical to some extent, which turns many people off completely and can be trying at times even for fans. Fortunately his skills as a director really improved during the 1970s, and he made a number of excellent films in the 1970s and 1980s. Certainly Manhattan has to be one of my all time favorites, while Hannah and Her Sisters, Stardust Memories, etc. were worthwhile as well.
Lately Allen has been in a bit of purgatory, as his films have dropped off in popularity even as his draw as a legendary director has given him access to acting talent of unprecedented quality in his career. He still managed to pull off Deconstructing Harry (which is gutwrenchingly funny to anyone who has ever been a bad boy and wonders what happens if you keep on doing it) and a number of other films that have varied in quality enormously.
(edit: Changed the entire meaning of my post in order to make others look foolish.)

I decided a long time ago to seperate the art from the artist to the extent possible. Otherwise I would never listen to music, or go to the movies.

Not sure which "film" maker I hate more Woody Allen or Spike Lee..... they both suck. I wish Spike Lee would remake Jungle Love and personally plug Woody in the bung hole.

I never got into Spike Lee or Woody Allen.
Really the only spike Lee I saw was do the right thing. That movie was touted as being so great. I found it rather mediocre.
Woody Allen. First he shouldn't star in his own films. It it implausible to see him with those women. And neoritic characters aren't great protagonists. We want to see strong leading characters. And he's really not funny.
maybe it's a New York thing. I like shows like Seinfeld though.
