Brag about your loot
My parents and I opened presents a few days early this year, since we're flying out to California to celebrate Christmas with my brother and sister-in-law, and we didn't want to have to haul all of that crap with us. So, here's my "what did you get for Christmas" thread that will no doubt sink to page 5 by the time somebody else actually gets around to opening their presents which will prompt somebody else to make a "what did you get for Christmas" thread resulting in my thread sinking into obscurity and causing me to cry tears of butter when I get back online in January.
Anyway, this year I got:
- A 10-piece non-stick cookware set
- A George Foreman grill
- Socks
and I couldn't be happier -- I definitely needed the socks, and I can definitely make good use of the cookery (every time I see my parents my mother immediately asks how I've been eating, and I always say that I've been eating nothing but spaghetti, tacos, corned beef hash, and rice, and she asks something like "why don't you make grilled cheese sometime?" or "why don't you make liver & onions sometime?", and I always reply "I don't have anything to cook them with," so apparently my folks decided that I need to eat more grilled cheese and liver & onions, so I'll oblige them), so now I can only hope that my parents have informed my brother and sister-in-law that my watch is being held together by duct tape and that they take the appropriate actions.
So, how'd your haul go?

Sharing the birthday of December 18 with Markos, I cash in double during the yuletide
My father gave me some of his money and a bottle of Johnnie Walker (he's a realistic man, I guess). My mother gave me some of the money that used to be my father's. My cousin gave me "Ein weiters Feld" by Günther Grass that I can't imagine I'll read within the next 20 years.

Lorizael, that post sure looks weird with the censorship thing. Or maybe it's just me and my sick mind.

Funny thing is, the collection is called The Philip K. D!ck Reader and I just couldn't help but calling it the **** Reader.
Edit: I'm eighteen, btw, so don't expect much maturity from me.

I got a large set of tools from my father and a DVD of WW2 Pacific battles. Everyone else is either dead or doesn't play Christmas anymore.

I won't be getting anything except for $50 in cash from my mother.
I bought her a thoughtful gift though, and chipped in with my siblings towards a new, half-fridge for her basement.
But our mommy will give each of us adult children $50 and lavish her grandchildren with several gifts for each of them.

It's just a fridge that's not full-size, but it's not a dorm fridge either.
And what do you mean about the "full meaning" of Christmas??

MrFun:
Want I mean is that (and I assume) that your Mother is living on a fixed income - just like most of America (and my parents also)...but she does her best to make the holiday season as fullfilling as possible.
IE, it's not what you give but the meaning behind the gift it self.

Have you seen Trainspotting yet Krazy?
If not, well ... it will be interesting to say the least.

ah, ok
I'm happy with the $50, and plus, I couldn't afford to buy a gift for all my friends, so I chose three friends to buy a gift for (all surprises) so I'm not expecting anything from them in return.

AH!!! I reread your post Krazy.
I thought at first you posted:
"I've been Trainspotting 3-4 times"
But you actually posted "I've seen Trainspotting 3-4 times."
