When the game forces your city to switch build orders because you lost out on a wonder, the Palace is never given as a switch option.

AI can capture and inhabit a cultureless city. I thought cities with no culture could only be razed.

Was the city size 1 on the turn it was captured? If not, the city will remain.

IF Civ-A has a cultured city
& Civ-B captures city but builds no culture in it
& Civ-C captures city from Civ-B
Then the city still survives, even with 1 population

One little thing we used to have that disappeard with C3C:
When loading a saved game, it no longer automatically goes to your last save. You have to find it. Not a real big deal, but nonetheless a good feature that disappeared. The patch didn't fix it.

a small one:
wall street should have the "commercial" flag checked.
iron works should have the "industrious" flag checked.
after all, apollo is scientific, pentagon militaristic, etc.
it's seldom that you havn't had the golden age by the time these small wonders, but still...

If I save my C3C game in the standard location (Conquests/Saves), it always goes right there to the correct file. Have you been saving yours in some non-standard place?

this probably has something to do with the prebuild "fix".

i've been getting some error messages "maximum hyperlink exceeded" or something like that. it happens usually in the diplo screen when clicking around to see diplo details, and one time at a stack of 40+ workers while waking some of them up.
when this happens in the diplo screen, the 3 party treaty lines (embargos, alliances) lose a part of the line, so you're not able to see all 3 parties involved. when it happened in the map i had to alt tab to the error message window, then close it.
this is all in 1.13 though ...
btw, my games arent being recorded in the hall of fame anymore, is this normal?

It seems that the HOF is only used for the Conquests scenarios now. Check the HOF at the startup screen to see what I mean.

If your game has been modded in any way the HOF won't record it.

Yep... I've been using 1.12 and 1.13 unmodded, and have been recording HOF scores.
First time in a long while, btw, as I had pretty much been exclusively using the AU Mod sonce we started it.

I'm pretty sure small Wonders don't trigger a GA, hence those flags are not used for anything.

ah, now that i think on it again, you're probably right.
the other things had the flags probably to only get the stuff cheaper.
while militaristic, scientific, agricultural, seafaring and religious get cheaper stuff, commercial, industrious and expansionist don't.

Outrageous 1.12 battle results
2 regular horsemen beat my Elite Crusader on Flood Plain.
3 regular horsemen beat my two veteran knights on hill.
Why aren't horsemen this powerful when I'm the one using them?

That's simple. Just introduce the 4-roll combat. Although I predict an outbreak of outrage in this case...

Well a combat sim would show values for the crusader battle from 10% to 50% chance for the horsemen. Remember the crusader is a 3 on defense.
The Knights on a hill is another story, They are also only 3 defense, but the bonus should let them win at least 80%.
What does it all mean? Standard deviation can get you in a sample that is so small. IOW on a case by case basis, anything can happen.

fatal bug!
This bug made my game crash.
I couldn't upload the saved file, email me at beltz@videotron.ca if you would like to receive it, it's 1.4 megs.
It crashed because it could not open the file "art/UNITS/Knight/Knight Death.wav"
The REAL filename is actually KnightDeath.wav without a space in it.
I edited the filename myself and it solved the problem.

Screwed up leader names
Has anybody else encountered this yet?
I have just started a beta 1.12 game. Me with 7 random civs. One of those historic ranking pop-ups comes up and my civilization is at the top....and bottom of the list. I thought that this was the bug. By the way, I rename my leader and civilization just to make it a little more interesting to me...heck with the policital correctness.
Anyhow...I ignore it and carry on. I, prestigious leader YellerFeller of the Japs, continue in my pursuit to claim all territory when I encounter another civiliztion. Amazingly, the leader sure looks like Queen Elizabeth of the English, but is named YellerFeller of the Japs. All of the cities are English cities. Very confusing and interesting. Instead of worrying about it much, I just destroyed their forces and took over the cities.
Anybody else have a random civ get the same name as your civ?

The last player in a PBEM game has the potential to move units twice if they are on automatic move. Is this bug going to be addressed?

it's not a double move, because the unit is immobile at the beginning of their next turn.
it is a bug in any case.
