Boom Time: From Guns to Butter
This thread is the Foil to our "PEACE/Cycon war Preperations" Thread. Its for discussing the overall build plan for post war Build phase which will lay the ground work for us to be competitive in our next war (who ever it ends up being against).
I will lay out the General plan I have invisioned so far.
Our bases are likly working on their last set of military units, when these are completed and sent westward we will have all base prepared to build. Many are rapidly aproatching growth beyond their Drone Control limits, particularly Logic Loop and Pi Square. We can either go with Doctors or Holo Theathers in these base, I propose Holo Theathers, we have good energy production at this point and the incressed trade in the near future can offset most of the maintance costs. Many of the Captured PEACE bases will be in a similar situation again Holo Theathers may be nessary their, 2 workers in a Sea Base can generaly bring in enough energy to pay for a Holo Theathers maintance, especialy if we get the PEG.
Bases that are still well controled should consentrate on Crawler and depending on when we acure Eco Eng also Formers for the Construction of BoreHoles. Once these bases start to aproatch a mineral output of 6-8 and surpluss nuts fall below 3 we should look to making Recycling Tanks. Heavy use of Hurrying is to be used to accelerate production.
After our large bases complete Holo Theathers they would next move to Net Nodes or Crawlers. At about this time we should start the Planeatry Energy Grid, I would recomend Zetaris as a nice Place to build it, we can cash several Crawlers their get the Progject done quickly or if their is no one else competing for it we can take our time. After it is completed we may wish to incresse our reserach budjet.
In the near future we will also take Democracy, this will trigger growth in many of our core bases so we should likly wait untill we are a bit more into the war and are bumping up against the buracracy limit. The incressed Efficiency will also boost energy utalization in our new Sea bases.
As we progress into far western PEACE territory the bases become smaller and less valuable. I would propose some of them be abandoned such as Atlantis and Calico Island. The Colony Pods freed up could both be moved to the eastern side of the large island which Calico borders (Calculon Island perhaps?). Their they could be planted as land bases and we would extend a territorial claim over the whole of that island. The new bases would be considerably closer to our HQ and would serve as good staging points for any future confilct with the University.
I would propose that we retain atleast one of the PEACE bases on the far western Henry Morgan/Little Accident Island. Though it would be nice if Little Accident was coastal. These Bases could serve as stagging points for Probe Foils for attacking the Angels, they would ofcorse need good Probe Defences and some ships Patroling around. Most of the Western PEACE bases will need Childrens Chreeches to maintaine good Efficiency.
I also belive we should switch to FreeMarket as soon as the war is over, most of our Navy would re-home in the PEACE bases and travel back through the Bolean Bay and into the Or Straits ware they would remain in port to avoid drone Riot but be ready to attack Beliver Transports should a war start with Miriam, likly we will patrol each turn 4 out and 4 in so as to always end in out territorial waters. As new bases are Built along the Eastern Coast the Navy can spread out to protect all the bases their from Beliver agression. Transports could help speed the placment of Colony Pods too.
Once Imediate Drone Control in concoured PEACE bases is completed they wold likly fall into the same Build sceam as our own Core Bases, building Crawler, former, Net Nodes and contributing to the PEG.
Dose anyone have anything to add or a differing emphisis for things.

Why stop at a mineral output of 6-8? Why not let our old and newly constructed formers plant forests (and mines on rocky tiles if we have EcoEng), and let the bases churn out crawlers until they all produce about 16 minerals, around the limit before they start to produce eco-damage? By this method it takes a bit longer before we can start on facility production, but this lost time is gained back very fast by the higher mineral production.

If we are going to use crawlers, shall we upgrade them? If so, we'd better obtain the trance ability, so we can upgrade to more mineral-rich models.

We'll have to choose the last base that PEACE has to obliterate anyway. I suggest we make it Calico Island, as that is located away from the core of all the other bases and would be difficult to defend. Atlantis could still be useful as an airport to move needlejets from our territory to Angel territory, or Hive lands (if they decide to co-op with the Drones).
Do we still need extra staging points for a possible future conflict with PUT if we're going to sign a pact?

That will also give us +4 Efficiency, which would allow us to switch to 100% economy or labs depending on our needs.
