RTS? On a console? Don't hold your breath.
As for FPS: Counter-Strike, Unreal Championship, SOF2, RTCW. Of course, they're all more or less also on the PC, but with Live there's no cheating and there is voices.

No, but Halo 2 is going to have extensive Live support in early 2004.

People said that from the start, but here we are over a year later and still cheat free.
The problem is, to cheat you need to mod your box. If you mod your box, you're not on Live.

From a site of 60,000 people, I would have thought there would be more people than this on Xbox Live.

Not all of them visit this rather obscure pseudo-spam forum, though.

and why would any sane person buy Counter-Strike for X-Box when you can download it for free for PC (where it is vastly superior anyways)?

You wouldn't. Counter-Strike sucks on the Xbox. You should play other things like Moto GP or Project Gotham 2 or Unreal or Wolfenstein (though Enemy Territory on the PC is much better, it's still fun on the Xbox), or a Sega sport game or something else. Voice chat is awesome and you can't really do that with a PC too easily.
Xbox is the best console, period.

Crimson Skies is also amazing on Live (IGN called it the best online game).
I feel sorry for Sava for missing out. Well no, no I don't. All of the "u sux0r" gets old fast in PC multiplayer.
The only time I play PC multiplayer is doing LAN gaming. I can't stand playing with weirdos on it.

You can't download CS for free unless you've got Half-Life, which means you gotta pay anyway.
Have you played CS lately on the PC? It's plague by cheating and accusations of people cheating whenever they have more kills than deaths...

Actually I hate Crimson Skies (though I seem to be the only one). The game looks really nice, but it's really boring.

For the last time.... Voice chat in PC is EASY! PLENTY of third party vchat programs you can run on the background... I use to vchat in CS when I used to play... (thats was before 1.0!)
I hate crimson skies too. I can see how other ppl could like it, but I find it boring too....

Voice chat may be easy on the PC, but it's not ubiquitous. That's the killer for it.
With Live everyone's got voicechat, and it's integrated into all of the games. No ****ing around with background programs. Plus it's got a very easy way to mute any player you want easily across ALL games on Live, very important for the idiots...

Yeah you're right. Forcing everyone to have vchat DOE make it so much better than PC.
Yeah. Played it at CompUSA. Its not much playing time to judge the game, but from what I played i concluded i wont like it . It seems it could be fun though. Maybe im just being biased cause ive been turned off by flight sims lately... (perhaps a new wing commander series could come up to change all this? )

Crimson Skies is more of a FPS in multiple dimensions than a flight simulator.
It's incredibly arcadey and camp but damn, is it fun online.
There's more to it than just dogfights, there's also modes like CTF.

Obviously i havent tried the multiplayer @ compUSA.
And I have admitted that I jumped to conclusion way too early.
I already mentioned that I can see potential for this game too.
So i'll take your word for it and give this game a retry. Sometime later I'll rent it and explore it a bit more.

One thing I didn't expect in it is how some planes have some turrets on them, and you can actually switch to these turrets in multiplayer mode to use them (to shoot at someone on your tail, for instance).
There's also assorted turrets (flak, cannon, machine gun, remote-control-rocket, etc) on most levels on the ground somewhere that you can enter.
In order to get more kills than deaths you'll need to master lots of the special moves, like the Immelman, which are possible simply by clicking in the right thumbstick and pressing down.
